Godwin v 1.02

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Godwin v 1.02

Postby JoshuaGordon_9 » Mon May 17, 2021 1:12 pm

Team 3 in signature.

I own the 1.02. Another owner wants it and is offering Godwin.

Him:
Mahomes

Barkley
Cook
Henry
Lindsay
Pollard

Hopkins
Hill
Ridley
Godwin
Allen
Mooney
Washington

Kelce
Engram

0 picks

Yea, hes stacked. I like Godwin, but with Evans, AB, Gronk returning it's hard to see much more than 6 targets a game for Godwin. Take the deal? Or try and get a bit more added on?

I prefer Godwin more long term, but with your team I could see making the deal if you like a prospect more. I think an early 1st is spot on value for Godwin.

I just offered Godwin to the OTC 1.02 in hopes to get Chase, and was denied. This is a perosnal preference thing IMO, but I want Chase

I would say that's spot on value for Godwin, which generally you don't see. But if Chase is available I would probably take on the risk for the youth and upside.

Yea, I'd say that's fair value. Just have to decide which player you prefer. I'd rather have Chase long term in the Cincy offense.

Going in to his 5th year, and Brady likely on his last season or two....I’d MUCH rather take chase at #2 than Godwin. Like I said, this being his 5th year and he only has one top 25 finish really, and was with a QB that was just chucking it. Brady spreads it out and doesn’t lock in on a guy. Give me chase and the youth, likely more fantasy friendly situation, and burrow likely longterm.

In perspective, it’s giving a team that has hill, Hopkins, rudely, Allen, and Godwin....guys that are in their peak...won’t be worth more than this at any point....a bailout. Trading 1.2 for Godwin is allowing this owner to inject some top talent youth and not even lose a guy he would be starting. Godwin is not worth 1.2 at this point. Easy choice.

As a Godwin owner, I'd easily accept the 1.02 if offered so I could swap him for Chase. I wouldn't do it the other way around though, as it's being offered to you.

Feel like I'm suffering from rookie fever but I'd keep the 1.02 and take Chase.

1.02 for me. I like Godwin a lot, but he reminds me of Emmanuel Sanders in his potential - he can flash WR1 talent but seems like he'll end most years in the WR15-25 range. Not bad at all, but I'd rather have the potential of a 1.02 draftee than the steady good production of WR2.

Also, while I try to keep the other guy's team out of my trade considerations as much as possible, it's impossible to do so in this case. It would be criminal for you to allow that guy to add Chase to that roster. Mid-season, I could see him flipping KAllen to a fringe contender for a 2022 1st to further restock his roster. You don't want to be a part of extending this guys championship window for 5 more years.

Agree. And Godwin really doesn’t seem to be gaining value now. He is what he is. A good player and can put up a big week here and there. He’s not a sure fire #1.

Geez, talk about rolling the dice. For me it would be Godwin easily. I'll take the proven producer who is still young vs potential. We have seen too many "top talent" receivers flame out and not live up to expectations for me to even consider trading a top WR for a maybe top WR.

Huh? In dynasty I’d take chase over Godwin 10/10 times. Worst case you could trade chase for more than Godwin immediately. This time next year it’s very likely Godwin is in the juju funk. We know he’s good but owners won’t dish anything out for him after another 700-800 yard, 5-6 td season. In every league I’m in Godwin is already on the trade block and no one is biting. He’s just a good player. Not a great fantasy asset.
