I may be mistaken but I think he is the first consensus WR1 on every teams draft board since Calvin Johnson? Can’t remember where I heard it or read it. Now that might also be an indication of a weaker class if it’s true, but I think given his record and measureables it’s hard to argue with those who are targetting him.

So much that the Dolphins traded back and claimed waddle as their top WR???

Dolphins would have preferred Chase and probably thought they would get him but were happy with Waddle as consolation.

I took Chase at 1.06 in my SF Rookie draft and am THRILLED! I think he should be a top 10 WR by next year. Hype might be a bit high now, but he will get there.

I would have rejected that too. In fact, if you want to me to take Reagor, you'd have to add the 1.02 to Reagor to get my 1.04.

I would have rejected that too. In fact, if you want to me to take Reagor, you'd have to add the 1.02 to Reagor to get my 1.04.

I was getting destroyed for a couple of trades I made in a SF rebuild. Owned 1.04, but Lance fell and I wanted Chase:

SEND: Cousins, TB12, 1.04 (Lance), Goedert, 2.04, 4.04
RECEIVE: Tua, Baker, 1.06 (Chase), Jonnu Smith, DeVante Parker

(Note: Goedert was my TE2 behind Andrews)

Chase was my guy. I traded back to take him, downgraded my TE2, threw in a couple picks, added depth at WR and got much younger at QB. If you're taking Chase 1.02 I feel a lot better about the value I got.

Sidenote: Reagor hate is in the same lane as CEH hate... over hyped guys who still have a bright future that came back to earth. Reagor landed in a dumpster fire. I think drafting the Slim Reaper will help his value.

All I will say is look at Jefferson and Lamb last year. Lamb wasn’t even that good last year and he’s already considered a top 10 WR in dynasty. Chase is considered the better prospect and already has the chemistry with Burrow. Bengals defense is still terrible so Burrow will have to chuck it. They still have Higgins Boyd and Mixon so he can’t be doubled.

The “issue” is you’re drafting Chase with no room to profit where you could make a big profit on Lamb and Jefferson last year. It’s likely Chase will live up to the hype but there is very little value to gain outside of him being the next Calvin Johnson.

It’s the same issue with Lawrence. He’s likely to deliver as a consistent top 8 QB but that’s where you have to draft him in startups to get him. It’s an interesting discussion for sure.

Yes he might be getting a little overhyped but the talent and potential are there and I can see him going in that range. However I would probably still pick Godwin, Ridley, and McLaurin as they have proven there worth and Chase has not. Its a little bit of a gamble to take him this early but I can see doing it.

Sure, but he was going top 5 in start ups. I don't disagree that Reagor is by far the bigger disappointment, but whenever people get burned by hype, hate follows.

I think CEH is a great buy low candidate. I think Reagor may be able to pull it out still. Not comparing the two as prospects or potential, but there is an equivalence to frustration among owners who see their value evaporating.
