RB or WR?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

RB or WR?

Postby cowboysfan » Fri May 14, 2021 7:37 pm

Would you trade Jonathan Taylor straight up for Tyreek Hill.

My other notable pieces include Cam, Mike Davis, Diggs and Jeudy (I know. Not the best team. It needs work)

I also have the 1.1, 1.12, 2,1, 2.6 and 2.12

12 team, ppr

Thanks.

Would not. 3 down workhouse RB's the most valuable piece to have in fantasy.

With that kind of team, I would not be trading JT for Hill. That's the most valuable piece you have, and if you have to move him, you need to get king's ransom in return (i.e., multiple draft picks or solid starters at 2 positions, minimum).

Value is on Taylor side but I think Hill has the highest ceiling out of any non QB in dynasty week to week. This is much closer for me than most I'm guessing.

Totally agree. Hill is no joke 1 or two steps/plays away from 40 point weeks every week.

I don't think the rebuild philosophy timeline matters here. With Hill and JT, the projection is 4-6 years of WR1/RB1 quality production. For me it comes down to which one will be more productive. I think that is Hill.

Aside from that, team build and preference of RBs-to-WRs might matter. Since you're building for 2-3 years out, I wouldn't plan on Mike Davis being your starting RB at that time. That leaves your roster building wide open. Personally I kind of like the idea of having a WR base of Hill/Diggs/Jeudy.

Seeing as how this team projects to lose in 2021, I'd try to trade Mike Davis for a 2022 1st. You might have to wait until the season starts and he gets a couple of good games in the books. You need more good picks to transform this team.

I would not trade Taylor for Hill.

Taylor is in his age 22 season and I expect 6 or 7 solid seasons out him.

Hill is in his age 27 season and not all WRs age gracefully into being 30+. And on top of that, 2022 is the last year of his deal. Will he resign with KC for his age 29 season and beyond? Maybe. Maybe not.

With your team being a ways away from contending the next couple years of Hill’s greatness probably don’t mean as much as how he looks in 2023 and beyond. Don’t make a trade to get older as a rebuilding team.
