Is this trade dumb?

Postby TyrannosaurusRex » Thu May 13, 2021 3:00 pm

Really appreciate the input from this community so far. The trade offer is Elijah Moore and Micheal Carter (No I’m not a jets fan) for my 2022 1st and 2nd. Looking at my team below do you feel this is a bad move to take it? I’m on the E.Moore hype train right now. I’ve also been offered Elijah Mitchell for Dre Fitzpatrick to pair up with Trey Sermon.

Thanks guys

I would hold your picks here. Carter looks like he may be in line for a fair amount of work this year, but long term I don't view him as a top back. If Moore is your main target, I would offer your future 2nd + something small on top. You have a great QB and WR core, but need a bit more time on the RB side and I don't think Carter is the answer long term.

Tough one as you probably are a competitive team with those WR. I'd almost rather use the picks to buy an rb2 though.

Bad move.

Michael Carter, with 4th round draft capital, is most likely a scrub that is out of the league in 3 years.

Elijah Moore also doesn’t particularly strike me as a guy that is going to standout on an NFL field.

I’d keep the picks.

Maybe counter with a 2nd and 3rd, or two seconds. I wouldn't use your first.

Elijah Moore was 'my guy' going into this draft, but I got him at 2.1. Carter went in the mid-second in my rookie draft. Neither of these guys are worth a 1st in a SF setting, at least at this stage.

I think it is risky for sure. But I had Carter as the RB4 in the draft and he was 2 picks away from round three draft capital and then nobody would talk about his draft capital being too low. He is only competing with Perine right now so I think it is safe to assume he will have a big role on a team that IMO is trending up.

First remember there are no dumb trades, only dumb people. I guess it comes down to your team, are you looking to compete now or rebuild? The team that your trading with are they a top, middle of the pack, etc. If it could potentially be a top pick, along with your picks it would be a great chance to rebuild next year.

I’m looking to compete now. My WR core is strong but older than I’d like. I’ve tried my best to get a decent RB2 but no one is budging. :/ the team I’d be trading with is in FULL rebuild his team is really bad but he’s got every 2022 1st rd pick besides 3. Mine being one of them.
