Would you trade Ruggs for 2.7 and 2.12

Would you consider this?

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Wed May 12, 2021 6:46 pm

12 team PPR dynasty league, we start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 reg flex. I was sent this offer today:

Give: Ruggs
Get: 2.7 and 2.12

Current Roster:
Burrow, D. Jones
Akers, Mike Davis, Lindsay, Edwards, L. Murray, Gurley
Hill, AJ Brown, Godwin, McLaurin, Sutton, Ruggs, Crowder, Preston Williams
Hurst, Ebron, Howard
Picks 1.9, 2.9, 3.2, 3.9

Here are my thoughts, but wanted to get some others as well. I spent a late 1st on Ruggs last year, he didn't do all that well, but he was just a rookie in a crazy covid year with no preseason. I figure 2 mid/late 2nds with this offer is about the equivalent of an early 2nd round pick, so I'm definitely losing a little value. BUT...my roster clearly needs RB and TE more than Ruggs as a #6 WR...but being a 1qb league not sure I'd be able to get much of any RB at 2.7 (like MAYBE Hubbard or Gainwell if I'm lucky right?) I do think its possible Freiermuth could fall to that range though....so would you make this trade?

I can understand making this deal, but I would not write off Ruggs after one season. I would hold but totally understand not liking at all what he showed.

I would feel so much better if those 2nds were early to mid instead of mid to late...

If this is for this year's draft, you're looking at a combo like Freiermuth and Collins. I'd personally take that over Ruggs. It's not that I don't believe in his talent. But I'm thinking how little the Raiders got out of Cooper...

You wouldn't have wanted to bail on Cooper for this price even if you knew you would have to hold him 3 years though.

But yeah, I'm not overly impressed with the Raiders WR development. I still hold. Ruggs still has the draft capital and it was a weird off season. I still want to hold here and let this play out. I'd reset with either of the Moore's, Toney, or Marshall but not this far down in the draft.

he did put 1000+ yards in his rookie season though.

as for the trade, if someone you really like slips to 2.07, then maybe. i would likely keep ruggs though.
