Help with the 1.04 pick

Postby HerbUrban » Wed May 12, 2021 9:40 am

After making a few trades I now have the 1.01 and 1.04 picks in our upcoming 1QB/PPR rookie draft. I’m planning on taking Chase with the 1.01. My guess is Harris and either Etienne or Williams be the next two picks.

If Pitts is available at the 1.04 is he the obvious pick, or would you go with a RB like Etienne or Williams?

I could also use a long term franchise QB since Matt Ryan only has a few years left.

Lastly, I could keep loading up at WR for trade bait.
16 team-Dynasty-PPR IDP - 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE) 10 IDP

RB - Bij. Robinson, K. Herbert, J. McLaughlin, M. Carter,
K. Gainwell, E. Gray, J. Mason, Z. Evans, S. Tucker,

WR - J. Chase, C. Lamb, T. Hill, B. Aiyuk, M. Evans,
C. Kirk, E. Moore, R. Bateman, A.T. Perry, T. Scott,

With your build, RB looks like the way to go at the 1.04.

Based on your build I would probably have taken Najee at 1.01
Team 1: 12 team, PPR
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence
Najee, Swift, Javonte, Jamaal W, Murray
DK, DJM, Juju, Jameson, Gallup, Van
Pitts, Friermuth
1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

Team 2: 12 Team, SF TEP (1.5 PPR)
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex, 1 SF

Mahomes, Burrow, Cousins, Rudolph
CEH, Swift, Gibson, Jacobs, Mattison, Scott, McFarland
DK, AJB, Ridley, McLaurin, Kupp, Landry, Mims, Hamler, Miller, Johnson, Robinson
Andrews, H. Henry, Sternberger, Alie-Cox, Herndon

Same as Team 2
Watson, Burrow, Lance, Z. Wilson
Pollard, Mattison
Chase, D. Smith, Boyd, Hardman, E. Moore, Cephus, A. Rodgers, Harry, Boykin, A. Tate, Miller
Hockenson, Thomas, Albert O, Njoku
3 additional firsts

Same as Team 2
TLaw, Burrow, Watson, Darnold
CEH, Gus, Cohen
Juju, Chark, Shenault, Boyd, Landry, Renfrow, Robinson,
Engram, Kmet, Firkser, Schultz, Arnold, Herndon

I'm assuming this is for your team in the signature.
Definitely like Chase at 1.01 and Pitts at 1.04. IF you dont' have much more draft capital I would also consider Lawrence at 1.04 in a 16 teamer given your current QB group, but would prefer to trade back a few picks and get him instead.

For instance, if you are happy with getting any of the 3 RBs, Pitts, or Lawrence with your second pick, you should move the 1.04 for the 1.06 + something. That something could be pretty big with this draft and how people view their tiers.

If Harris and Pitts go in the top 3 I’ll probably trade down a little to get a QB later. I don’t have any other picks besides the 1.01 and 1.04.

I went with Pitts. Why not take Harris with the first overall? I assuming this is for the team in your sig. If so, there is argument to be made that you need Harris more than Chase. Just my opinion
Current Win Now!!:
Chester
10 team PPR (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Kicker, 1 Def/St) 27 man roster limit:
Qb Josh Allen, Joe Burrow

WR Cooper Kupp, Michael Thomas, Chris Godwin, Juju Smith-Shuster, Brandon Aiyuk, Calvin Ridley (S), Zay Jones, Lavishka Shenault, Terrace Marshall,
TE George Kittle, Darren Waller, Pat Freiermuth
K Justin Tucker
Def/St Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers

Possibly competitive team
QB: DeShaun Watson, Daniel Jones, Cj Stroud
RB: Breece Hall, Travis Etienne, JK Dobbins, JaVonte Williams, Latavius Murray, Gus Edwards, Kenny McIntosh
WR: Calvin Ridley, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Garrett Wilson, Darnell Mooney, Romeo Doubs, Terrace Marshall, Justyn Ross, Kayshoun Boutte, Puka Nacka
TE: Kyle Pitts, Zach Ertz, Darren Waller, Tucker Kraft
K: Justin Tucker
D/St: Bills, Bucs

I'd go Pitts or Etienne.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

It is the team in my sig. I agree, Harris would be a better fit, but I prefer to build my dynasty teams around WR. I also think Chase is the better talent.
