1.12 vs 2022 first

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.12 vs 2022 first

Postby nicktahoes » Tue May 11, 2021 3:40 pm

Just trying to gauge the 1.12 in a SF league vs a 2022 first. I am going to guess that I'll end up with Lance or Jones (this league draft so different than the normal SF league). In my signature you can see who I have for QB and will absolutely take whoever is left for me. But I am wondering if I should just trade the pick for a 2022 pick. The couple people I am targeting have expressed interest in getting 21 picks and two of the three are most likely middle teams. The third is making the playoffs and has a very very strong chance of making the championship game.

I just know my team is getting up there and has a lot of off season things that are impacting them. So my thinking is to get ahead of the decline. Thanks in advance.
Team 1:
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Geno, Hooker, Rush
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Elijah Mitchell, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom, Irv Smith

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

If you can land Lance at the 1.12 in SF, I would rather hold the pick. If he does not drop, I would make the deal but I'm not sure the deal would still be on the table at that point.

Exactly. I would prefer that as well but unless the owner wants whoever is there I have to make the trade now.

Depends on how much you want to gamble. I think the mid 1st is a safer bet than Lance dropping, but you know your league best.

You know you league better than all of us. But.. having lance drop to 12 in a SF. 12 team league... sounds like I want to join the league! I don't follow college ball, so only going off what I read here ..but isn't this year supposed to be so much better than next ( is is that said every year? ). There were a lot of position players drafted in the first round this year..more so than I remember as of late...I could be wrong... point is, I think the first round this year has a lot of talent ( based on being drafted in round one of the NFL draft ), so I would be more inclined to keep the pick. If it was from a team that you thought would give you a high pick next year, I would consider it.

I'd hold the 1.12. I don't think the 2022 class will be as good. I've seen some nice talent fall to 12. I got Devonta in a Superflex at 10. Then it went Waddle, MJones, Sermon, Terrace, Bateman, RMoore, EMoore, Carter.

If Lance is there then 1.12

Otherwise 2022 1st

This class is not very good. I expect 2022 will match it quite easily

Sound like you should stay at the 1.12 if you think lance could be there. Does that also mean fields, Wilson or Jones will be there as well?

No from picking brains of the other guys I expect it to go:
Lawrence
Harris
Etienne
Chase
Pitts
Wilson
Waddle
Williams
Fields
Smith
Lance/Jones (he said he might take Carter)
1.12 the remainder between Lance/Jones
Team 1:

If your intuition is correct, it's an easy hold and take Lance at 1.12. If you're left with the "typical" selections at 1.12 I'd prefer to gamble on next year's first.

This. Lance went 1.1 in a SF dynasty I'm in yesterday. Him being available at 1.12 is insane.

I like this class a lot and think you'll have great players there. MAYBE one of the top 5 qb, but probably not. More like Sermon, Devonta, Bateman, Carter, maybe Waddle.

1.12 is only the 1.12 is consensus players fall there. If you are getting guys that are 1.02-1.06 consensus then you are, in reality, trading an early to mid 1st for another 1st a year later, which would make no sense
