Valuing TE's in this league

getting ready to start what amounts to basically a 12 team SF TE premium league. Very deep starting positions. 1 QBs, 2 RBs, 4 WRs, 2 TEs, 2 Flex, 1 SF. All TD's are 6 pts and it is ppr. However, TE's get 8 points per TD and 2 ppr. It is also start 2 TE as well.

How would you value TE's in this league??? Would you take Kelce in the 2nd round?? Is that too early??

I'd absolutely take Kelce in the 2nd round if he is on the board. I'd consider coming out of the first 2 rounds of this draft with a top 8 QB and Kelce a great start.

Kelce, Kittle and Waller should all be gone by end of round 2. I'd rather try to get two of those guys and get a RB later. Or a stud young QB and once of those guys.

If Kelce is there in round 2 you definitely take him. If you get him I personally would recommend going for winning in year one. Kelce has 2-4 years left. If it's closer to two you want to take full advantage of that eliteness in a premium league.

I’d be going TE early and often. TE, TE, QB, QB, TE (or some combo) wouldn't be a crazy start in this format. TEs will be gold post draft (and forever) and impossible to acquire. Example: Hockenson would've been a top 12 overall, non-QB player in this format. Kelce would've been the 1.1 in pts and 1.3 if you count QBs. You must get three solid TEs early.

The top TEs will be gone maybe as soon as the early 2nd.

In this format, you can take Kittle or Kelce (depending on preference) at 1.01.

Yea this is massive for TEs. If you can corner the market by basically tanking year 1 and collecting all the TEs, id consider it as a viable strategy to slingshot you into an elite team. ESPECIALLY since it's starting 2. The only way I wouldn't select a TE early on is if value is blatantly too good to pass up. I'd be coming out of this draft with about 4 starting TEs and at least 3 prospects/rookies

There are very few elite TEs. If you draft in the first six spots probably go RB there, but if you draft at the end of the first round, say 6-12, I'd go TE-TE. I mean what TEs are elite? Kelce, Kittle, and Waller? After that the dropoff is STEEP. Also don't sleep on Pitts later in the draft. He could break out year one, risky but he's a rarity.

Actually, now that I see all of this, and read ALL of the posts, I think you take TE-TE as long as those three are there, at ANY position in the draft. Andrews, Pitts, Thomas, and Ertz right behind this.

Posted this a few days ago and this draft is underway now. I was able to get Lamar with my first pick. Second pick is coming up and Burrow and Waller both still available. Kittle and Kelce both gone. Burrow is my top QB available.

Thoughts?
