Harris or Dobbins?

Postby Njpell » Sat May 08, 2021 6:28 am

Got a trade offer for my 1.01 in my 1QB league: JK Dobbins for the pick. Was going to pick Najee Harris so essentially it’s Dobbins or Harris?

Dobbins for me right now, but both rbs have problems.

Harris is running behind a less than good o line.
Dobbins is not going to get a ton of passing work and potentially will lose goaline carries to LJax.

I think dobbins has the better 2021 season but if PIT invests in a solid offensive line Harris could be better in the future.

Dobbins looks to be the better talent, but I don't trust that BAL will commit to him fully as 3-down RB. So I'll take Harris.

I like Dobbins situation more based on system and line, but he will always lose rushing touches to Jackson.

Also, Baltimore targeted RBs only 62 times in 2020. Pittsburgh targeted RBs 80 times in 2020 with ; 107 in 2019; 104 in 2018; and so on.

Not only is Najee going to be on the field on passing downs whereas DK will be on the bench, but Pittsburgh passes to their RBs approximately 70% more than Baltimore on average. That's the opportunity for more production, more fantasy value.

It’s hilarious seeing people on here say dobbins is more talented than najee Harris. That is just funny.

They are probably saying that because he is considerably more talented

There's a reason Najee returned to school over competing with last year's crop of RBs

Stripes hit the nail on the head here. I would much rather have Dobbins between the two. Dobbins may lose carries to Jackson/Edwards, but that offense runs the ball so much it doesn’t make much difference. Dobbins’ efficiency last season was right in line with what he did in college and there’s nothing to suggest that this will change, especially considering the fact that a stacked box against BAL isn’t ever really a traditional stacked box given the need for spy on Jackson.

One guy has played in the NFL the other has not. Whats funny is all the guys so confident they can read the tea leaves with rookies every year.

Ingram is gone, Dobbins is going to see an increase in volume this year and he is on a run first team that drafted him high. If he was coming into the league as a rookie he would be going ahead of Harris on a lot of peoples draft boards before we even saw glimpses last season.

I'm not trying to pretend like Dobbins is inferior to Harris in talent. I think it's closer than some in here are saying. Not that anybody is saying anything crazy.
I factor in draft capital at least a little bit here. In a day and age where the 1st round RB is endangered and almost extinct, it says something that PIT took him at 24. Plus we all know how PIT likes to use one horse. That one horse is Harris.
Dobbins will have to compete with both Lamar and Edwards at least in BAL.
I doubt that PIT will go from having the type of line they're used to, to just being okay with the type of line they have now. They will build around Harris and whoever the next QB is. And they will run Harris into the ground for 4 or 5 years. I know he's 22, so those 4 or 5 years is probably all you're going to get. But, that's becoming the way it is with RB's anymore.
I'm one of the few who'd rather have Harris here.

I think both are good assets to have, but give me Dobbins. Run friendly system and proven NFL talent vs a guy who hasn't played a snap yet. Talent wise I've always like Dobbins and had him right up there with Taylor predraft last season.

Situations change quickly in the NFL. Dobbins may get 50 receptions and Pittsburg might remember how to block. Using either as a fact is just speculation.

Give me the guy not competing with his QB and another RB for carries. I love the talent Dobbins has, but I'd lean towards Harris.

I believe Harris is definitely the better talent and everyone wants to point to Pitts O-line as to why Dobbins is the better pick but I would not base the pick solely on the O-line . Pitts has already made changes and even if its not great this year they will continue to build it up and historically they have been able to rebuild O-lines quickly.
