League Just Changed to SF - What What To Do @ 1.04

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

League Just Changed to SF - What What To Do @ 1.04

Postby ajcarroll1983 » Fri May 07, 2021 8:14 am

Hey all - as the title says, this offseason our league just switched one of the 5 flex spots to a superflex, which if you see my team below I was more than happy to vote in favor of.

Looking at my roster, I could definitely use backup/bye week replacement help at QB, but I also think my TE and WR are weak points and need a long-term fix. Sitting at 1.04, it seems that the others above me will likely go QB, as the rest of the league doesn't look as prepared for superflex as I am.

What are thoughts on a good strategy to use at 1.04 - go big on TE (Pitts) or WR (Chase), or look at a 3rd QB (Fields/Wilson/whoever is there out of the bunch)?

Thanks for the feedback and ideas. Trading is pretty stingy in this league, everyone wants to win the trade and people are a little too unrealistic for things to get worked out a lot.

If all 3 above go QB, I'd have no issue with 4th QB (likely Wilson or Fields) but would also consider Chase here

I think you are right to avoid the RBs given the 1rb and all the flex. I’d lean qb but be fine with chase or pitts too.

I think I'd go Pitts, but taking a QB would be a solid choice also. Nice spot to be in for sure.

Out of curiosity, how did your league handle the transition process from 1QB to SF? Did you just vote to start doing it this fall over the offseason?

I would be looking to go QB to hopefully lock up a third an valuable option for your build. If you hit, that is one area you would not need to worry about for a bit which is a big luxury in SF.

This league is set up differently in a few ways, scoring and roster just being the most obvious. But we've also given the commissioner a lot of leeway - he basically watches how scoring is looking from season to season, might suggest a tweak or two, and if there's at least a few who agree (and no overwhelming opposition) we'll implement it.

With the move to SF, it was announced before our 2020 draft, to go into effect for the 2021 season. That way, everyone had two drafts to build up everything in preparation. It's actually been pretty seamless.

Good call. That transition needs time.
