Grab rookie WR at 1.06 or make this trade for Claypool

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Grab rookie WR at 1.06 or make this trade for Claypool

Postby RoyalDynasty » Thu May 06, 2021 11:25 am

Have 1.06 in this years draft, non SF so I assume D. Johnson, Bateman or Waddle will be available at 1.06

or I can make this trade: Send 1.06, Kareem Hunt and 3.06 and receive Claypool, 2.09 and 2022 1st (most likely later pick)

Trade or keep 1.06 and draft best guy available?

Team 1 in Sig. Looking to add some youth to my WR core.

I think that I'm waiting to see who is available at 6 before I make this move. I'm assuming that Pitt will slow down on the passing attack this season and Claypool may see a lower amount of targets this season. Also once the draft gets rolling he may throw more your way when rookie fever is in full effect.

Very similar to the day from yesterday. I still prefer Chase, Waddle and Smith to Claypool but I'm likely in the minority here. I still think the value is on the side you are giving up, but I think Hunt is a solid back and the 1.06 could bring a solid WR in time.

Seconding what Stripes said: only Chase would make me look away from Claypool.

I guess I'm also in the minority here and actually in a similar draft situation. I say hold until you at least see who is available with your pick and then see if you get a stronger WR offer.

You're giving up the 1.06 plus Hunt and getting later picks back along with a talented but possible #3 option for the Steelers. I think you could find a RB weak team and trade Hunt alone (if you needed to do so) and get a decent WR in return and still get your young rookie.

I have the 1.07 in team #1 and figuring on the same group of players to be available as you and strongly needing a solid WR. I have an offer of giving JRob for Claypool from someone who offered me him plus a bunch more last month.

I say stick it out and draft the BPA to go along with your other good WR's.

This is hard to read when one of the players is named Chase Claypool and you have ADD, just saying.........keep the pick until on the clock

I like the idea of picking up a first in next year's draft by basically shuffling bench players for your team. I like both Hunt and Claypool, and that is a fair swap to me, maybe benefit Claypool side. So you are sending 1.06 and 3.06 for 2.09 - which could be a sleeper wr nearly as good as the mid first names you'd be looking at - and that future 1st. Let the young guys you already have develop for another year, then next year you'll have the extra first to replace the guys who don't cut it.

Good luck!
