Do I have to go RB 1.02

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Do I have to go RB 1.02

Postby footballwookie » Thu Apr 29, 2021 11:49 pm

Team 2 in sig

I have the 1.02 and 1.09. I foresee najee harris going at 1.01 in my league. I am very much in need of a solid RB,i also have decent WR's. I think value wise i go Chase with 1.02 (if harris goes 1.01). But i think ETN fills the void better (at 1.02). I think i have HAVE to go RB at 1.02 am i wrong? is ETN over Chase too much?

I kept debating between Etienne and Harris as my RB1, and had settled on Travis before the NFL draft. While I really like the Jacksonville landing spot for ETN, Harris landing in Pittsburgh secures the number one spot for Najee.

I think Chase is a significantly superior prospect than either of them though. I'd much rather draft Chase at the 1.02 and try to flip your 1.09 and one of Hardman/Sheppard for a RB upgrade.

I still view Chase as the 1.01, so would be happy to land him at 1.02.

In a 2 wr and 6 total rb/wr league I personally think you should go etienne but you certainly don’t have to pass on a stud in chase.

I'd go with the top 2 RBs before any WR.
Etienne may be what most hoped that Sanders/Swift would be. He has a similar skillset but also has a way better production history and most importantly, was a 1st round draft pick. His upside is massive. Don't overthink it.

I don't understand this post, the OP stated they had the 1.02. it's also possible that you misread my sentence, I have both Harris and Etienne below Chase on my board. I was talking about my back and forth debate on which of the backs was the superior asset (and should be my RB1) too illustrate how neither could truly put the other away.

I think you are in need of both RB and WR. I prefer Chase, but couldn't fault you taking ETN either as long as you can be patient with jacksonville's deployment of RBBC with JRob.

thanks for all the advice much appreciated. This team (team 2 in sig) is obviously a rebuild iv been working on. I think im getting fairly close to being able to compete. I was thinking the serious lack of RB would force my hand ( to go rb) at 1.02. I still think i pretty much have to go RB. If ETN hits I feel my team could finish with some winnings idk. I know Julio is old as hell but i imagine he still puts up some half way decent fantasy numbers. As long is Julio isn't done as a contributing WR im pretty OK with my WR core right ?

You're starting four wide receivers every week, two of which are young and dynamic as can be. Julio is a great current starting, but his age and unstable team situation definitely doesn't inspire s great deal of confidence. Boyd/Gallup/Sheppard all lost value this off season and I don't believe in anyone you have after them.

You're receiving corps is better than your RB group for sure, but both not so much so that I'd over look Chase.
