What to do with 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05 in superflex?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to do with 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05 in superflex?

Postby davidxhorn » Wed Apr 28, 2021 2:59 pm

I am a competing team that managed to get three of the top five draft picks. It's a super flex League, but I'm wondering how stupid it would be to take Harris/ETN/Chase here, and let the next picks grab the QBs.

This is obviously a little bit of a hypothetical because of the draft doesn't start until tomorrow, but with the Bridgewater move today and word on the street that Atlanta will be standing pat and grabbing Pitts, it really comes down to the 49ers at 3. If they don't take Fields, and he ends up slipping, I don't know if I am a big enough Lance or Mac Jones fan.

Thoughts?

EDIT - should know that I am set for this year at most positions, and I have 1.10, 2.02, and 2.03 as well. Team 1 in Sig.

You are in an interesting spot based on the format and number of teams. Rodgers and Ryan are both older but also have big upside. Behind them, you don't have much. I think Tua is very risky long term, but I could be way wrong there. I would be looking to grab a QB to stash but I don't think it's crazy to go: QB, RB and WR in some order. 10 teams brings down the QB value a bit, but I still think stashing one could be beneficial long term.

Your RB depth is concerning with a must start 2 also, so I see the desire for two RB's here.

Nice work locking up some solid picks to help with options.

Oops, realized I hadn't updated my Team 1 with current situation. I flipped Jefferson for DJ Moore + CEH, and traded Tua for a projected early first next year and David Johnson, who I then flipped for 2.03. Might change your thoughts.

I would definitely add a QB then. Fitzpatrick should get you through this year but all three of your QBs are older and are much closer to the end of their career than the beginning. Depending on landing spots and who is available, I would not force two QBs necessarily with having the picks next year also, but I still think you add one. Losing Jefferson hurts the elite side of your WR core, so I would be looking at Chase and/or Smith also. CEH gives you a bit more flexibility at RB too.

10 team league I wouldn’t take qb if I were you with any of those picks. Take whichever one makes it to pick 10

Yeah, that's the subtle difference between 12 and 10 teams. Qbs take that small hit in value. I also benefit that it is a very trade happy league, so in a pinch I can give up assets. I have Evan Engram, but tight ends bum me out so not sure I would spring for Pitts even though I could really use the upgrade.

I bet Mac Jones is there for me at 10.

I’m good passing on QB, particularly if Fields doesn’t go to 49ers. Mostly bc it’s a 10t and agree Mac may be there at 1.10. Solid team all around so no weaknesses, though TE is a bit iffy. I’d go RB, WR, Pitts here and just pad that depth. They're all luxury picks so don't sweat doing a TE early.

I like going ETN, Chase, Pitts unless the NFL draft changes ETN and Harris or Javonta and then get a QB at 10. If it looks like you won't get a QB then you could use some of those 2nds to trade up
