JR vs Zeke

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

JR vs Zeke

Postby FiremanEd » Thu Apr 22, 2021 6:25 pm

How big of a gap do you have between James Robinson and Zeke? Zeke owner in rebuild, so youth has added value. How far off are they for you?

Robinson + the 1.03 range in a 1 QB league still for me. I dont think it's time to write off Zeke and I think he bounces back fine.

I was thinking more in the 1.04-1.06 range in 1 QB. If I had Jrob I'd rather roll the dice on him AND one of the top 3 guys instead of Zeke. He could bounce back, but his value is on the edge

Yeah, I'd say 1.05 maybe. I'm not sure there is a huge gap between 1.03 and Zeke at this point just due to his age and the RB cliff, etc.

I like the mid 1st ideas. I just bought some Zeke on a winning now team. JRob could drop off a cliff for all we know. Zeke gets Dak back and will be killing it again.

I hate Zeke, but I'd value him more than Robinson. More proven, better offense.

Zeke was 9th in scoring in a year that people are calling a major "down" year for him. Prior to Dak going down, he was averaging over 22 fppg for 5 games.

I'm not one to buy RBs later in their careers, but for a contender, Zeke is likely to be significantly more valuable than Robinson. In 1QB, I agree with JR+ mid first seems about right.

I have come to terms that I am higher on Zeke than others. He was Zeke when Dak was on the field
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Zeke has been a RB1 every year of his career. He will start the season at 26 years old but man...can't even compare Zeke to Robinson at this point. Too man question marks with the new coaching staff and Robinson not having any draft capital at all.

X2. So many people down on Zeke, I get the age thing to a certain extent but in this case, I couldn’t imagine trusting an un-drafted RB over Zeke, even though Robinson did look really good, there’s been other cases similar to his and those guys sometimes are easily replaced.

Yep.
If I have a contender, I want Zeke 10X more than JRob. And I'd gladly add anything up to a 1.03 to seal the deal. Zeke may not have many years left, but 2021 should be a blockbuster for him. For a contending team, that might make a championship season.

Who really knows what JRob is going to do this season, or even what his role will be on JAX? There's no doubt that Zeke is the main guy in Dallas and is fully capable of being productive in that role in 2021.

Just to add clarity on the question, it wasn’t who would you take straight up, it was what is the add to cover.

Zeke has gone from ‘done’ in many eyes at the start of the offseason to now back on the rebound to elite performer. Was simply getting a pulse on to what degree it was at now. Thanks to all that replied.

Assuming 12 team ppr, in addition to JRob I'd want ...

Player wise: I'd want a good young stud back and maybe a random 2nd. Maybe a low-end WR1+JRob+2nd

Picks: I'd want at least a high-to-mid-1st+JRob. Nothing worse than 1.07.

I see JRob as more of a stopgap than a dependable 4yr RB1. If I was a contender with RB issues (say JRob was my RB2) and I had depth elsewhere, I'd happily trade JRob+DJMoore/Godwin/Cooper/ARobinson to get Zeke.
