Drafting at Pick 1.5

Postby gman6199 » Thu Apr 22, 2021 5:24 am

I’m picking at 1.5 in this years rookie draft. And would like to get some advice on who to pick. My team is in a rebuild mode in a 10 team 1pt-PPR.

I’m assuming that Harris, ETN, Williams and Chase will be off the board. Unless another rookie RB finds themselves in a for sure starter role I’m thinking my choices will be Smith, Waddle, Pitts, or Bateman. Looking at my roster who is the pick at 1.5?

QB: Hurts, Mayfield
RB: Dobbins, Gibson, Michel, Mack, Edwards, McKissic, Boone
WR: Golliday, Jeudy, OBJ, C Davis, R Anderson, Pittman, G Davis, Crowder, M Callaway, Tate, Coutee
TE: Thomas, Jarwin, OJ Howard

Based on the choices, Smith would be BPA for me. He looks like a great prospect to lock up.

Scary as Smith's size is, he's definitely the #5.

Smith or Bateman for me. Pitts is interesting but there's no TE prem so I'd pass

what are your starting requirements? Its likely going to come down to your favorite WR unless you have hefty starting requirements that could justify Pitts at 1.05.

If it comes down to the WR its between Waddle and Smith for me, likely based on landing spot.

I like Pitts in a rebuild but after that take your pick of Batemon, Smith, Waddle. If you aren't a Pitts fan, I'd suggest trying to move back since you are in a rebuild and there seems to be a tier of atleast 2-3 WR's at the 1.05. Move back to the 1.08 if you can and pick up more picks and take whoever is left of Pitts, Smith, Waddle, Batemon.

Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, Kincaid, Schoonmaker

I like the idea of moving back if you can get good value

Pitts. There are few ways to separate yourself from the competition in a 10 team league. Having a top-3 TE is one of those ways.

My bad our format is:
QB-1
RB-2
WR-3
FLEX-2 (RB, WR, TE)

In 2023 we are going to a 2QB league

0 chance I take pitts at 1.05 in a format that doesn't require TE.

Take lawrence at 1.05 and laugh about it in 2023.

The transition to 2QB changes the equation. TLaw is just too good of a value to pass up at 1.05. It's not like your current QBs are winning you the league anyway.

With the format change in 2023 I honestly think Lawrence should be pick 1 unless people are worried the league folds. That said, Lawrence is definitely the call at 1.5
