You will find this a very polarizing question that will come down to some people giving you more statistics than you can handle that a rookie TE early draft pick is a fool's errand while other say that he is a unicorn and your draft the mould breaking unicorns.

I fall in the later camp so if Pitts, is there, I'm running up to the podium.
Team 1: Dynasty/Contract Team: 12 Team, PPR, QB,1 RB, 2WR, 2 Flex WR/RB, TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.25X receiving yards points)

WR – J. Chase, C. Lamb, K. Allen, T. Burks, DJ Chark, P. Nakua (R)
TE – D. Waller, C. Okonkwo, L. Thomas, J. Ferguson

Team 2: Dynasty Team: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex WR/RB/TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.5X receiving yards points)

BPA for me. I would prefer a WR, but if Pitts is your guy and he is available...take your guy. The good news is, landing spots are finally almost a reality.

Pitts is fine there if available. I assume Harris and ETN will be gone. Along with Chase. It's probably Smith or Pitts at 4

Depends on who is there at 1 05. If chase somehow falls there is zero chance I'm passing on him.

Don't lock in on a player, BPA is always the path I like to take. My guess is you will be deciding between Smith and Pitts, take the guy you like more

I'm going Pitts if you are drafting pre NFL draft. His NFL draft pedigree bust factor is super low. Everyone expects top 5 or 6 pick and for sure he won't go out of top 10. And top 10 NFL draft TE's actually have good chances to hit. I'd be worried about all those guys like Batemon and Waddle and Smith who we expect to go high but you never know. What happens if your WR ends up being the next Hakeem Butler and doesn't get picked until late in the draft? I'm going with the safety of who everyone thinks is a top 5 NFL pick along with a unlimited ceiling in fantasy

I have the same dilemma. If Chase falls, I’m taking him 10/10 times there. But as of right now, I’m not super high on Smith, so it’s between Waddle or Pitts for me (pre landing spots). Pitts may be the most talented player in this draft, so I have no problems taking him there.

If your rookie draft is after the NFL draft, I would table that decision until you see who goes where. That's how I'm handling these decisions. I don't have any rookie drafts that occur before the NFL draft.

It all depends on how who’s available and when you’re drafting. Pre-NFL draft, I’d prefer Smith, and possibly even Bateman, over Pitts. If post-NFL draft, it would depend on landing spots for me. 1.05 is the top of my tier 2 non-QBs, so landing spots would shuffle my rankings within that tier.

put your board together.....and run with the board....
mine would have the top 3 backs and chase ahead of Pitts....... then depending on spot Smith, Waddle, Bateman are all possibilities.......

Looking at the same thing for one of my leagues with 1.5 in my 10 team league......so should be interesting....

Why is that? I think Pitts is much safer be to be a high pick in the NFL draft and every year some of the touted WRs fall farther than we anticipate. I'm just curious what your reasoning here would be on Smith and Batemon over Pitts?
