1.02 in SF Rookie Draft

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.02 in SF Rookie Draft

Postby d@wgp0und » Sat Apr 17, 2021 10:05 am

Hey all, I have the 1.02 pick in our Superflex Rookie draft this year and have been fielding trade offers. They usually seem way off but beginning to wonder whether my valuations are what is off. As much as I need RBs, I didn't think this offer I got was close to even:

My 2021 1.02 and 2021 2.02 for Melvin Gordon and 2021 3.04

I'm not high on Melvin Gordon to begin with so I rejected it. That owner also has the 1.04 and other decent RBs including Austin Ekeler. I considered offering: My 2021 1.02 + My 2021 3.02 for their 2021 1.04 and Ekeler

If it is still light on my side, the other owner has needs at WR and TE. What would I need to add on top? Thoughts on whether this is worth pursuing? Thanks all
10 team dynasty, .5 PPR + return yards, 25 man roster (3 taxi), 3 man IR

WR: Diggs, Evans, R. Anderson, M. Hardman, Chase Claypool, Rashod Bateman, Marvin Jones, Denzel Mims, John Ross

TE: M. Gesicki, Blake Jarwin, G. Everett, Logan Thomas, Adam Trautman
IR: Jeffery Wilson

If you have 1.02 you should be taking a QB. But if your set on getting an rb trading back to 1.04 and getting eckler would be nice

Even in a ten team league their initial offer is way low.

I wouldn't even bother countering it tbh.

Your deal I think is not great either. I don't think the difference between the 1.02 and 1.04 is ekeler

Not in a 10 teamer. Rb or wr or possibly pitts depending on scoring.

The Gordon offer is well short and an easy pass, so you are not off there. Trading back if you dont need a QB is a good way to go. Maybe a young RB or WR + a mid 1st? Looks like you could use a bit if help at WR and RB.

In a 10 team league I’m taking Harris 1.02.

I think the 49ers are a great landing spot too (scheme/coaching/talent) but I don’t really understand the Shanahan is a god that can do no wrong mentality that everyone has these days, he seems to have gone from good up and coming coach to HOF real quick. Again, I’m all for the landing spot but I’m not taking Mac jones 1.02 in a 10 teamer just because of shanahan.

I don’t mean to argue with or pick on you specifically here realmacaroni, lots of people way smarter than me in the media and analysts have the same mentality, I just don’t fully get it.

I think if SF takes Wilson/Fields that would be my 1.02. Mac Jones to SF would not be my 1.02 pick though

Kind of funny, but if Shanahan was a QB whisperer, do you think he should have got more out of Jimmy G. than he did? Obviously injuries played a role here. But I have to say I too wonder why it's a given that he's going to turn whatever rookie QB they draft into a juggernaut. Maybe he will, but I'll likely be watching from the sidelines as well.

I don’t think I could bring myself to even counter that initial offer. 1.02 isn’t necessarily a QB in 10 team SF, I’d take Chase with a smile and keep building up your long term core. Look to add RBs as the cherry on top of the build when you look ready to make a run.
