1.01 for Chubb?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.01 for Chubb?

Postby Finfansteve » Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:17 pm

Just got an offer in my inbox. I get 1.01 if I give Chubb up. Hypothetically he’s my 2/3 rb as I also have saquon, JT, and mixon and we can start a max of two weekly. The league is performance scoring six pts per td, yardage bonus, and is non PPR which hypothetically helps Chubb but he’s also going to be 26YO in December and it might be a good time to get off the Chubb train now possibly and if I don’t I doubt I’d be able to trade him next offseason in this league.

I’m on the fence as I love Chubb but if there is a time to cash out I’m thinking this might be the time and I’m lucky enough to have some good replacement backs I can still start. I also have 1.03 and 1.09 in this draft as well if that helps.

Thanks in advance
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, DK, G Wilson, Palmer
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

And in all this, you forgot to say whether this is SF or not. Big difference in the value of picks, as you surely know.

I take the pick either way. I am either adding a top QB for Chubb in a SF, or moving him for the RB1 in this class. I am of the mind that Harris could easily best Chubb if not with talent, certainly with opportunity. You have wiggle room here.

The pick pretty easily if it's SF, if not, I think it's close. Chubb is a very solid RB and still should have good years left. If you are interested in adding Chase or Smith with the 1.01, I could see making the deal but if you would just draft another RB, I would rather hold Chubb.

I’m pondering chase at 1.01 Gator. I might be able to get him with my 1.03 but I’d rather lock him in at 1 if possible then look at Harris, ETN or Pitts at 1.03

Chase is the only guy in this class I would potentially take over Chubb, but I guess I haven’t really thought about if that would still be true in non-PPR. I think I’d hold Chubb here though.

Even though Harris is considered old for a rookie (or maybe you like Etienne?) he's got a few years on Chubb. Given that you've also got the 1.03 you could come out of this with the best prospect in the draft (Chase) and a younger, solid RB to replace Chubb.

I hate to give up on a guy like Chubb. But you know your league better than we do. If this is your last good chance to sell for value, I think the 1.01 is a pretty good excuse to make the deal.

I did not know Chubb was already 26. Given that the Browns resigned Hunt, I'm taking 1.01 over Chubb. Chubb might outscore Harris or Etienne in 2021, but I'd be willing to bet he doesn't in 2022 and beyond. If you can come out of this draft with one of those 2 RB's and Chase, sign me up!
