Gibson vs 1.05

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gibson easily.

You are hoping that one day whomever you pick at 1.05 could produce like Gibson already has.
Team 1: Dynasty/Contract Team: 12 Team, PPR, QB,1 RB, 2WR, 2 Flex WR/RB, TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.25X receiving yards points)
QB – J. Hurts, A Richardson (R-IR))
RB – Javonte Williams, K. Walker III,J. Hill, J. Ford, K. Miller (R), J.K. Dobbins (IR), K. Hebert (IR)
WR – J. Chase, C. Lamb, K. Allen, T. Burks, DJ Chark, P. Nakua (R)
TE – D. Waller, C. Okonkwo, L. Thomas, J. Ferguson

Team 2: Dynasty Team: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex WR/RB/TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.5X receiving yards points)
QB - A. Rodgers, L. Jackson
RB - B. Hall, S. Barkley, A. Kamara, E. Mitchell, J. Mason, Z. White, K. Miller (R), T. Spears (R)
WR - T. Hill, D. Adams, C. Watson, M. Brown, R. Rice (R)
TE - D. Waller, G. Kittle, J. Ferguson

Given it's not Superflex, Gibson.

No way in 1QB you can replace the production of Gibson in this draft. Unless you're set at RB and Gibson is say, your #4/5 RB, I'd hold.
14 Team, No-PPR, 20 Man Roster, TD Heavy, TD = 6, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D
QB: L. Jackson, B. Purdy, T. Lance
RB: J. Mixon, N. Chubb, A. Dillon, J. Cook, K. Mitchell, J. McLaughlin, Z. Evans
WR: J. Chase, C. Godwin, D. Johnson, J. Reed, C. Tillman
TE: TJ Hockenson, D. Njoku, B. Jordan

14 Team, .5 PPR, 18 Man Roster, Rush/Rec TD = 6, Pass TD = 4, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D
QB: L. Jackson, T. Tagovailoa
RB: B. Robinson, K. Walker, R. Stevenson, K. Herbertl
WR: C. Olave, T. Higgins, B. Aiyuk, N. Collins, Z. Flowers, M. Mims
TE: K. Pitts, D. Njoku

Gibson was an mid range RB2 on a PPG basis last year and that was with 11 rushing TDs. I don't think he is bad by any stretch of the imagination but I think I could hope the 1.05 was better than what Gibson did. Gibson was a 3rd round pick and has looked good but it's not like OP is asking for JT or 1.05. I think it's closer than what you are making it out to be here. I'd rather have Chase, Pitts, Etienne, Harris for sure over Gibson. So I guess you could say 1.05 is fair for me but I'm not jumping up and down over it either.

I would rather gamble on Gibson in a 1 QB format.

Good thing I asked that question. I am a bit surprised that it seems to be Gibson and not that close. I would have thought that people were higher on Harris, Williams, Etienne, Chase and Smith/Waddle.

Gibson is so much better than Etienne it's not even funny

His positional value puts him well ahead of small WRs like Waddle and Smith

I consider him personally to be better than Najee and Williams too but that to me is at least within judgement call territory. Chase I would likely take over him unless I was contending and needed him as my RB2

Gibson, so fast I might break the keyboard.

The move from college to the NFL is HUGE. It's almost impossible to point to any one player and bet your house that he will make the switch and be a fantasy starting-quality player. No matter how good we think HWECSW are, we don't really know yet. We all know now the minimum of what Gibson can do in the NFL. I'm taking the sure floor with the high ceiling over the unknown quantity.

It’s Gibson but I think Harris tops him. Etienne and J Williams can be close but it’s an unknown until year one is in the books. The WRs aren’t valuable enough as incoming rookies

I'd say the value is comparable. It will be situational if you want to make the move or not, but I think it's fair.

Gibson easily for me. Yes, he was RB12 overall and RB16 in ppg for Weeks 1-16, but he was also Did that while learning how to be a RB on the fly. Give me the freak put up a fringe RB1 season as a rookie learning the position after just 33 D1 carries.

There can be an argument about Gibson vs. Harris, but at 1.05 you have no chance of getting the latter.

I’d say Gibson is around 1.03. Like most have said, I wouldn’t move him for the 1.05.

This. I think there’s better talent and upside potential at the 1.05 but Gibson has shown well at the NFL level. Fair value either way and can see it depending on team build.
