This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Postby SteveMaddensShoes » Wed Apr 14, 2021 8:13 am

Trying to get some more depth and get a bit younger with this team in sig

Am I over valuing Wilson here? I am offering Wilson for the 1.01 and 1.03. Is that too much to ask?

That might be a bit pricey for some buyers, but I also think its a fair ask. You are selling a known elite QB in SF for prospects that are highly regarded but are still unknowns. I may be in the minority, but I think its a fair ask. May not be accepted, but a fair ask. Wilson may not have as much appeal to a rebuilding team either.

I would definitely throw the offer out there to see how close the 1.01/1.03 owner sees it, but I doubt that both of those picks get moved for Wilson alone during rookie fever season.

I just threw him a package to move up and he said he had too many picks already so I'm going a different route. He also has the 1.05 so maybe 1.01 and 1.05 is what I'd settle on. That would give me Trevor+Chase/Pitts/Harris. And it's always possible everyone busts. But I agree that most don't like paying those kind of prices for a QB. Even though I think it's fair. I've had so many draft picks bust that I'm a little gun shy on not getting value on my elite players anymore.

The 1.01 + the 1.05 is still a pretty solid package if you come out with Lawrence and Chase.

Agreed. If TLaw lives up to the hype, you won't miss Russ too much. Chase/RB/QB is a nice cherry on top

Lawrence and Wilson I bet would be close to identical in a persons eyes who owns the 1.01 your not getting anything but a throw in.

That's what I'm afraid will be the result but I can't imagine it's actually true in reality.

At this point, a lot of people have Lawrence > Wilson. Not saying whether that is right or wrong, just saying. Anything on top of 1.01 would be huge IMO.

I think the Trevor love is too high for you to make this trade happen. I am guessing the owner of 1.01 has more holes than QB, so the youth is a massive bump

It's a fair ask, but several other issues at play here. Just assuming the 1.1 owner "earned" the pick and his team is rebuilding. So to give up the next can't miss qb for a 32 yr old qb who's taken a lot of hits may not work. Also for him to give up possibly another top qb with the 1.3 in a SF, again is a ton to give up for a aging qb. But like in all sales you can't make the sale happen if you don't ask for it. So put it out there and see what he comes back with.

Going to guess its a huge NO for the 1.01 owner. Lawrence has already surpassed Russ in the April DLF ADP.

Thanks for the input. I swapped the offer to 1.01 and 1.05. I would not normally make the offer since it seems a bit backward from what he was doing but when I offered a 1st and 2nd to move up in the draft he said he had too many picks already so I swapped up my asked. He did earn the pick and has been rebuilding. He has 4 or 5 1st round picks this year and is doing a good job on the rebuild. I think Russ is worth the picks but like everyone said, probably won't happen.
