Edmonds or Hines

Postby OhSnapItsAnt » Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:25 am

Just got a text asking if I’d trade my Edmonds for Hines straight up.

He owns Conner.

I had another trade in the works with Edmonds that fell through because of Conner signing.. I’m scared if they take an RB early it’ll even give Edmonds less value.

Do I just sell for what I can get at this point or is he a hold?

I think Taylor is going to eat more into Hines role this season then expected, so I would not have much interest in Hines. Edmonds should still have a role/passing work and I would rather hold. I'm likely in the minority here, but I think Taylor makes a major jump to not coming off the field much this year.

That's my hunch as well.

Hines is solid with a capped ceiling and sitting behind one of the top young RBs.
Edmonds is currently only competing with a RB on the tail end of his career. I'd stick with that pending a better offer.
Team 1: Dynasty/Contract Team: 12 Team, PPR, QB,1 RB, 2WR, 2 Flex WR/RB, TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.25X receiving yards points)
QB – J. Hurts, A Richardson (R-IR))
RB – Javonte Williams, K. Walker III,J. Hill, J. Ford, K. Miller (R), J.K. Dobbins (IR), K. Hebert (IR)
WR – J. Chase, C. Lamb, K. Allen, T. Burks, DJ Chark, P. Nakua (R)
TE – D. Waller, C. Okonkwo, L. Thomas, J. Ferguson

Team 2: Dynasty Team: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex WR/RB/TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.5X receiving yards points)
QB - A. Rodgers, L. Jackson
RB - B. Hall, S. Barkley, A. Kamara, E. Mitchell, J. Mason, Z. White, K. Miller (R), T. Spears (R)
WR - T. Hill, D. Adams, C. Watson, M. Brown, R. Rice (R)
TE - D. Waller, G. Kittle, J. Ferguson

Edmonds and Conner are both 25 years old, FYI.

For sure, and Conner has an unfortunate injury history that shouldn’t be dismissed. But he’s also been a pro bowl RB. He was the first RB in NFL history to have a season with 4 games of at least 100yds rushing, 50 receiving, and a TD. There’s talent there that is constantly undersold because he’s been banged up a lot. But...what has Chase ever done? lol think this is a lot closer to Conner as 1A than people want to admit.

I (kinda) agree and don't discount the possibility of Conner and Edmonds being 1A and 1B but to the poster's question, even if Edmonds is 1B, that is a better spot on the pecking order than Hines who is clearly 2 at best and to a much younger prospect with a higher upside at this point in their respective careers.

Hines. He has a productive, well-defined role in his offense. Hines won't ever be the main guy for the Colts, but he's a consistent flex fill-in.

Edmonds is up and down and less consistent. No one should assume Conner is the last step for AZ. The Cardinals will definitely add more pieces to that backfield. And every piece added is a subtraction of Edmonds' role.

I have to think Hines has the more secure role, and he's the one I'd want on my fantasy team.
