Adams Future

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Adams Future

Postby bigbuck22 » Sun Apr 11, 2021 6:21 am

The media has sure blown the future of A Rodgers in GB into a major story. Where Rodgers' future goes, so does Adams' future and value.

Where does everyone stand on DAdams. My roster is absolutely a contender but I hate to wait too long, Rodgers is gone, and Adams' value sinks.

I had this same thought, along with the realization that there isn't/won't be a greater sell high window on Adams than there is right now. I think how you proceed depends on a couple of things:

If you're going to sell Adams at his ceiling, you better make sure you're actually getting a haul for him. (Expect to receive value for THE WR1, not just a WR1) I'd be curious to hear what other DLF members view as a fair return, but this offer ought to be on the table from a member in your league to consider moving Adams. I know I'd personally want 2-3 mid/early firsts which in my own league probably wouldn't happen.

As a contender, do you have the receiver depth to cover the loss of a star player? Obviously you'll be expecting a drop off, but the risk/reward of moving Adams becomes more palatable if that trade bumps Terry McLaurin into your starting lineup as opposed to Nelson Agholor.

I also don't think that Adams falls off the face of the earth if/when Rodgers does leave. We've seen plenty of receivers who, while they could've been special with a better QB, still offered WR1 production with a less than stellar passer.

As an Adams manager and Packers fan, I decided not to shop him around on my own dynasty team, but that decision may be more heart than head. Hope this helps!

It all comes down to return. If you shop him and get a major haul, I could see moving him. If the offers are average, might as well hold the best fantasy WR and see how it goes. I would not sell low.

I absolutely would not sell for less than a haul. Ideally I would get a Lamb type in return. If I did sell, Landry would be my replacement along side Hopkins and Diggs.

Would you do this?

I have him and am contending this year as well. Just can't sell the WR1. Even for a hual it'd be hard to do unless you're rebuilding

I've been thinking of dealing Adams too. My team finished 3rd last year after winning in 2019 and 2nd in 2018. A guy in my league has the 1.1, 1.4, 1.5 He also has Lamb, but I don't think he would let him go. Would you deal Adams for those picks if you could?

As others have said. Sell for big return, but if you’re a contender and a massive return isn’t there then just ride him this year.

Value is still on the Adams side in either deal. The second option is closer, but still a bit light. If it were Adams straight up its solid. Since you are contending, I would hold.

Neither of those would get me to move Adams, even in SF, and I’m pretty high on Lamb. I’ve had Adams on the block for a while in my main league and haven’t even gotten an offer remotely close to entertaining. I don’t mind holding Adams one bit, as he’s not likely to get the return he should command and there’s far more risk in moving him prematurely.

Interesting
I consulted a few resources on these offers and they all suggest the offer(s) favor the Lamb side by a bit. DLF rankings don't have Adams and Lamb that far apart.

This value topic is interesting and let me tell you....I had hill and Adams in my league and couldn’t even get close to an offer I would expect for either one of them. Been in this league for 8 years now with these guys and once a guy hits 27-28 years old you aren’t likely to get any expected return on them. Not even kidding when I say I couldn’t get a guy to give up 1.8 and 1.9 for hill. It’s almost like scary Terry and Higgins are more desired than hill and Adams. Hoping to hit chase at 1.2, then who knows at 1.7 amd 2.1, 2.2.....might try to package those 3 for a RB/lesser pick.
10 team league....16 offensive keepers selected by April first. 28 man rosters during the season. 1 keeper defense and 1 keeper kicker.

Start 1 QB 6 pt passing TD, 2 RBs, 3 WR, 1 flex, 1 TE.

I'd really consider that 2nd offer honestly. 1.06 in SF has some serious value. If you could negotiate that 2022 1st to a 2nd, or get something else added to the Lamb/1.06 side I'd probably pull the trigger.

I talked to the Lamb owner about a possible trade. He's a contender as is esp if Barkley stays healthy. He balked at adding Adams if it meant trading Lamb.

I sold Adams from team 2 this offseason and got what I thought was a haul.

Adams and a 2022 3rd

for

1.05, a 2022 first (likely to be in a similar spot), M. Pittman, V. Jefferson and a 2022 2nd

I saw it as the start of a rebuild because I was in no mans land. Not bad enough to get a top pick, but not a real contender. I was very pleased with the return and it has been a great kick start to my rebuild.
12-Team, 30 roster spots and 3 Taxi spots| Start 10: QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Dak, Tua, J. Fields, K. Cousins
RB: J. Williams, C. Akers, T. Etienne, K. Hunt, R. Penny, N. Hines, K. Vaughn, L. Perine, K. Herbert, Ty Johnson, T. Homer, C. Evans
WR: D. Metcalf, C. Lamb, K. Allen, R. Bateman, R. Gage, L. Shenault, J. Reagor, Q. Cephus, D. Brown,C. Conley, A. Schwartz
TE: K. Pitts, G. Everett, K. Yeboah
D/ST: LAC, TEN, NYJ
2022 picks: 1.04, 2.04, 3.08
2023 picks: 1st, 2nd
