OTC - need advice

In a rookie draft right now (draft before the NFL draft). 12 team SF, start 2 TE. I'm OTC at 1.06

I need a QB badly (Dalton and D.Jones are all I have). Pretty set elsewhere. Gone so far are TLaw, Fields, Wilson, Pitts (me) and Najee. Not sure I'm sold on Mac Jones or Lance, as Chase is still available. But this might be my last shot at a QB. Trying to trade down but no takers so far....

Tough, because if SF does take Mac, I'd probably prefer him to Chase. Chase is much safer though imo and I'd probably go him given that I'm not sold the 9ers take Mac

Based on the format, the value is on the QB side, but I would take Chase.

If this draft was held in a month you would have your answer...I think I remove the risk and take Chase, but I would not fault you in the last for taking Jones. If SF doesn't take him he probably doesn't fall much past them.

Take the bpa always. If there's a tie, that's when you take the position of need.

I am in a similier situation in a SF league where I am drafting 1.03 and need a QB badly. Luckly I our Rookie draft is after the NFL draft but still not sold on a QB beyond Lawrance and Feilds. I keeping going back and forth on taking the next best QB or going with Chase (who probably be there at 1.03). In your situation Chase is clearly better and safer than Wilson or Lance at this point.

I'm not in the exact same situation as you are but I am going to have some decisions to make at 3 as well. I have a bunch of good but not great QBs and have TL at 1.1 but I also have 1.3 and need to decide what to do.

Unless you need WR (thought you said you are set elsewhere besides QB), I would grab your fav of Lance or Mac. Most drafts don't have this many QB options so it's nice to grab one at 6. The setup of your league requires a bit of gambling on landing spots and what not so it'll be a leap of faith whereas Chase is safer. I'd take Lance on talent and rushing upside over Mac. Chase is a nice player but I see more DJ Moore/McLaurin than I do Julio Jones/AJB with him. i'd pick Lance then Chase then Jones in that order.

Chase. Don't know where you stand on your WR's. Agree with some of the logic above but feel you could always trade him for a QB when the dust settles.

This is why you get qbs early in sf startups. I've been here and it sucks chasing qb production in rookie drafts. I've found best to go with the best positional player if he's top on your board. Maybe a guy falls to you or you can trade into a spot.

Chase very easily for me. Yes, it’s SF, but Tua was pretty much the consensus that 1.02 (maybe 1.03) last year and now guys are trading him for Tom Brady...Tom Brady! I’m not passing up on arguably the best non-QB in the draft to take the a flier on this year’s QB4.
