JT in rebuild

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

JT in rebuild

Postby Zech13 » Fri Apr 09, 2021 6:29 am

This is my first orphan take over so I’m curious about direction. 12 team ppr SF/TE (2ppr) start 2rb 3wr and 1 other flex of rb/wr/te. The question is what to do with JT, this league doesn’t seem to value him as much as others. Here’s the core

QB: LJax, Watson
RB: JT
WR: Juedy, Chark
TE: Hooper
The next best player is probably Mike Williams

JT trade possibilities:
I’ve had a counter offer of AJB/ Trautman

Other maybes:
1.02/ Pittman or Shenault
1.04/ 2022 1st/ 2022 2nd (probably mid to early)

I have 1.03, 2.01, 2.03, 2.10, 2.11, 3.03, 3.05 this year. Do I just hold JT and hope to trade him in season or try to get one of those early 1st knowing my 2022 1st is gonna be REALLY early lol.

Thanks

The Brown offer is decent, but I would hold until in season when his production shows or simply hold if no one values him. No reason to force a deal.

I'm not in a hurry to take any of those deals honestly. I do like the idea of a JT for AJB swap in a rebuild though, so if you could get a better 2nd piece coming back to you I'd be open to making that type of deal. Also, try your best to consolidate some of those 2nds and get firsts either this year or next year.

The Taylor for Brown deal is the closest, but it would take more than Trautman being added to get me to move Taylor.

I don't do any of those deals. I wouldn't move Taylor just to move Taylor. I'd be more concerned about getting what I could for Watson right now. Also, in a 2pprTE league, I would want someone way better than Hooper. But, you're not competing yet. So, that can come down the road.

In a rebuild, you have to have the king's ransom for JT. None of the offers on the table are that. I will make it my top priority to grab Pitts in the draft; this is a crucial piece in a 2TEP.

JT for 1.02 straight up? If not what would need to be added? The goal would be to take Chase and Pitts

I’m holding for those offers he’s a first round startup pick right now.

JT for 1.02 is a big overpay. I'd want at least another 1st for him.

100% hold. JT is in the perfect position and has a real shot to be valued as peak CMC/Gurley/Zeke level after this upcoming season. If I’m you I’m taking Pitts or Chase at 3 and continue rebuilding the right way, ideally Pitts in this format. You already have some great pieces on your team. I’d also strongly explore moving down from 3 to 6 if you can. You’ll get an elite piece in Wilson, the niners QB, Chase, Pitts or Harris which are the premium players + some additional draft capital or players.
