1.12 vs 2.3 & 2.4

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.12 vs 2.3 & 2.4

Postby vbbish » Thu Apr 08, 2021 8:16 am

Won it last year. Trying to repeat.

Couple questions.

Which side has more value 1.12 or 2.3-2.4

I feel like the tier break is 1.06. Any feedback?

Do I hold 1.12 and trade for immediate production?

I can't imagine any top end asset falls to the 1.12, so the extra pick to drop back a few seems like the way to go. As of now, I don't see a huge difference in the player caliber in this range.

Yeah, I think I'd take the back-to-back picks since you're only moving 3 spots. The talent should be similar and you're giving yourself 2 times the chance that you hit on a draft pick. Even the early 1st round is pretty much 50/50 that you hit a stud. If you believe there's a drop off before 1.12, pull the trigger.

I'd take 2.03/2.04 here. I don't have any tier break in that range for 1QB, so easy decision IMO.

I think once you get into the 8th-10th picks and beyond there is a talent drop off, so I'd take two lottery tickets to one. You can always wait until the draft when your on the clock and if there are 4-5 players you have all ranked pretty much the same I'd make the move. But if someone drops to you at 12 I'd still want the ability to add that player.

I would take the 2.3/2.4 side. Even if you have to add a small piece to your side I think it would be worth it

Of the two options, I would probably take the two picks over the 1.12 like most on here. But since you are already the champ and looking to repeat, whoever you pick PROBABLY isn't going to help you very much this year anyway. I know it's too late (since you already completed the trade), but I would look into trading the 1.12 for a 2022 first rounder (and maybe a little something late this year on top). At worst, the pick will be the 1.12 again, but odds are, it will be earlier, and maybe a lot earlier.
