Golladay value in picks (poll)

Postby saw061600 » Tue Apr 06, 2021 11:10 am

Team 3, SFLX. Owner asking for Golladay. He had offered Curtis Samuel+2.12 and I countered with the 1.12. He's considering the counter.

I also floated the idea of just picks in return for Golladay. What would you want added to the 1.12?

Samuel is not enough on top of the 1.12 for me even in SF. I would be looking for a better asset or an earlier 1st.

I'd take Golladay over any WR in this class not named Chase, and I don't even think I'm particularly high on Golladay. Something in the 1.05-1.07 range would be my starting point in SF.

I've got him around 1.12 heads up but admittedly I'm kinda low on him vs consensus

I moved Golladay, 2.08 and a late 2022 second for 1.06 and 1.09 on the day of his signing. Which was obviously a lot but some people are still high on him.

Based on early responses, I pulled the Curtis+1.12 and sent 1.12+2022 first (maybe late again but who knows). I'm not as high on Golladay as some and not as low as 1.12 straight trade but not playing a year is a concern. There's also that accepted "WRs that change teams have a drop off year 1 on new team." Although there are some examples of that not being true (Cooks, Diggs, Cooper, Hopkins) so maybe that's just fantasy football myth and not reality.

I believe Golladay is a true alpha WR who can defy the "1st year new team drop off." like the WRs you mentioned.

For whatever reason people are low on him. when I watch the film he's a stud. The contested catches and length make him truly dangerous in the right offense. Trusting the Giants and Daniel Jones is a different story tho

I'm not the biggest Golladay fan, but he is an almost-stud to me. If he can stay healthy, he should be at worst a borderline WR2/WR1. The problem of course is will he remain healthy? Through 4 years, he's missed over 1/4 of his possible games. To me, that factors in and keeps him from being on the same level as someone like Keenan Allen who has missed only 2 games in those same 4 years; or Ridley who has missed less than 4% of his games through 3 years.

It may not be fair, but injury history has to be factored in. True studs stay on the field. But even with that history, he's worth more than 1.12. Definitely go for the additional 2022 1st.

He is so disrespected. I would say 1.12+2022 first is fair value and even low if the 2022 first is expected late

The more I think about it (and thanks for giving me pause on this trade) the more I feel there's no way I'm moving Golladay. This league has large starting requirements 11 offense and 11 defense (no kicker!!!): 1-2QB, 2-4 RB, 3-5 WR, and 1-3 TE. So I'm starting Herbert, Murray/Stafford, JT, Jacobs, Golladay, Ridley, Jefferson, Diggs, Boyd, Kelce and Kittle when not on a bye week I have NO incentive to move any one of those starters so it's got to be an overpay to move any.

Good decision. With 9 non-QB starters, the 1.12 was too late to likely have a positive impact on your lineup and losing production by waiting for a 2022 1st doesn't fit your build with 2 elite TE and QBs.

Golladay's injury history is over exaggerated. Keenan Allen, Allen Robinson, many WRs earlier in their careers all dealt with being labeled "Avoid: Injury Prone"

Truly injury prone players don't get long term deals done. The NFL doctors double, triple, quadruple check biomechanics. When a team gets rid of you for degenerative or cumulative damage you get Todd Gurley. The Lions situation is not that.
