Haul for JT?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Haul for JT?

Postby PutItInReverseTerry » Mon Apr 05, 2021 11:31 am

What is a good price tag for JT in half ppr 1QB leagues? My team is in sig, and I haven't really been hearing offers for JT so far, but today I got offered...
- Lamar Jackson
- TJ Hockenson
- Amari Cooper
- 2021 3.06
and give
- JT
I have a feeling we're in the ballpark of what it would take for me to ship JT. This trade hits my teams weak spots (TE, QB) and I do have other good RBs. Thoughts? I'm not completely sure his price right now, especially after Mack resigning.

I still really like Jackson, but with already owning Burrow, he does not do a ton for your build overall. Hockenson is not currently an elite TE, so I don't put a ton of value into him personally, but I do still think Cooper is a really solid WR. I think the overall value is okay on paper, but I would have no interest in moving Taylor for this. You have a nice young RB core and I would be very hesitant to split that up.

I don't see Mack re-signing as a big deal to Taylor's value one way or the other. Mack was solid, but not dynamic, and is coming of a ruptured achilles. I'd actually be more worried about JT if Mack were coming back from an ACL, but an achilles is brutal for a RB. In a 1QB, Lamar isn't carrying the kind of value that makes me see him as a huge upgrade over Burrow. Hockenson would be nice, but not even necessarily a huge upgrade over Goedert or Smith if he takes a step forward this year. Hockenson could take a leap as well, but not a given. Cooper doesn't provide a hug upgrade over McLaurin or Allen at WR for me either. With having to start 2 RBs, I don't really want to be relying on Robinson in case of injury to Akers or Gibson. He may not get competition, but its even less likely he repeats his opportunity share form 2020 with a better QB and a new offense altogether. I'm holding Taylor here pretty easily.

I would Pass. There is a lot of value there but I see Lamb taking the #1 roll from Cooper and I don't see Hock becoming one of the difference making TEs. With it being a 1QB league, Lamar doesn't bridge the gap there.

10 team league and being able to start 4 RBs, JT should be able to get you better pieces.

I'm higher on Hock than Gator, but I don't think you really need him, with Goedert and Irv. Same for Jackson. The offer is fair, but in order to really benefit from it, you'll have to then turn around and trade some of the pieces you got.

If I'm moving someone on your roster it's Robinson. I like Robinson but he's the most likely to be replaced in the draft so is the best piece to move/buy depending on your team needs. You don't need him; sell.

I agree on moving Robinson as opposed to JT. A core of JT/Akers/Gibson has you set for years. Robinson could get you a pretty good TE and fill your biggest need.

Ok, sounds good, thanks everyone.
I agree with moving J Rob--unfortunately I haven't really gotten too many great offers for J Rob and don't want to undersell him for someone like Gesicki, who is prob the best offer I have gotten thus far (I believe I was also offered Golladay).
Appreciate the advice!

I like your team as is. I'd be looking at consolidating for a better WR or TE starter, not moving the other way
