Kelce: how much ask is too much?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kelce: how much ask is too much?

Postby saw061600 » Mon Apr 05, 2021 8:31 am

Team 1, owner still chasing Kelce. I've explained he's worth 2TEs based on output but I'm always willing to consider moves.

Owner has picks 4 and 7 and players like Akers, Jacobs, Diggs, Sutton.

What's the ask to trade away Kelce from a league winning team?

I wouldn't trade him away from a league winning team. If you do trade him away, you want a haul that will set you up for the next 4-5 years imo. That's the price to give up your championship chance to someone else imo. Ask for the moon.

agreed. what player(s) would possibly make up for the weekly advantage kelce gives you? very few, and you won't likely get them.

I think to set a price on wat I would move Kelce for would have a lot to do with the starting req's. My first thought was, well if he wants to fork over something crazy like Akers/1.04/Sutton, then sure I'd move Kelce. But after looking at the rest of your roster, I don't even know that I'd do that unless Akers was allowing you to drastically upgrade a flex spot at least. If he's just pushing another viable starter to the bench, then you're really losing out on positional advantage at TE at the benefit of just depth. I'm finding that unearthing a deal that makes sense to move Kelce for is proving very difficult for me as well. I'm almost just resigned to holding him and just letting him retire on my team.

If you are a contender, I would be looking to hold Kelce outside of a massive overpay. An early 1st ++ and the pluses would have to be solid assets. Kelce is too hard to replace and until we see otherwise, he is a WR1.

That's exactly what I keep telling the owner who's asking. I'll trade him Andrews or Jonnu, or damn near any other TE but Kelce is literally a WR1 production in the TE lineup position. You're going to have to pay a whole lot for me to even consider (and even then I'm proably going to say NO)

Sounds like the other owner is not willing to pay what Kelce is worth, might as well move on. I can see not wanting to pay a ton for him based on age, but his price is still crazy high because he demands it.

Agreed. I'd probably move on as well. It sounds like he wants to pay an Andrews type price for Kelce's production, never gonna happen.
