I recently took over a tough orphan rebuild to challenge myself in a pretty fun active league although the team is pretty rough.
The most valuable assets I have are Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Cam Akers. The rest of the team is pretty baron though (no idea what the previous owner was doing) so I likely need to move these guys. I'm getting a bit of pushback from owners on parting with any of their stud WRs in a trade. Like I may be able to get Deebo Samuel + picks or some other prospect, but established young guys like Tee Higgins/AJ Brown seem off the table.
My question is: what price would you look to sell any/all of these guys for at the moment? Normally I like waiting til mid-season to sell studs like these to contenders but I'd really like to get some draft picks for the upcoming rookie draft (have 0 1st-3rd rounders). I like to consider myself pretty smart about finding value trades in fantasy but this full-rebuild style of team turnover is uncharted waters for me.
12 Team SF, tiered PPR with QB, 2RB, 2WR, 4 FLEX, and SF in this particular league.
I'm also interested in your guys opinions in general about the price these guys should go for in off-season moves. Would you move a high end RB like them for multiple 1sts-2nds alone or would you have to get a star player in return?
What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?

Barkley - should be worth an early 1st + a mid 1st and possibly a young asset or equivalent value.
Jacobs - mid 1st + a young asset. Probably the wrong time to sell with Drake signing. You may get more in season if the workload still favors Jacobs overall.
Akers - hot offseason name, so possibly an early 1st + but also fits a rebuild hold depending on how you are hoping to structure your rebuild.
Jacobs - mid 1st + a young asset. Probably the wrong time to sell with Drake signing. You may get more in season if the workload still favors Jacobs overall.

Re: What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?
Would you not entertain any offers on multiple late 1sts? I've had a bit of interest in Akers from a team who wants to offer 1.09, 1.12, and either a player or more 2nd/late round picks. I'm tempted to negotiate something with him since he seems the most likely to buy compared to the other rebuilders with earlier 1sts, but obviously I don't want to lose out on a ton of value from trading away the most valuable players I have for a less than stellar package.Gator Sens wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:34 pm Barkley - should be worth an early 1st + a mid 1st and possibly a young asset or equivalent value.

Re: What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?
Jacobs for multiple late 1sts would make me think a bit depending on who drops on draft day. I would not move Akers or Barkley for late 1sts however. It's too far out of the elite rookie tier for me.Sooner_Cat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:40 pmWould you not entertain any offers on multiple late 1sts? Sometimes its never as bad as you think.
I'm not sure this is the draft class to be sell off all your assets unless you can get great picks.

Re: What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?
With this being SF, I would want picks that would net me 2 top non-QB prospects and would want a young upside player who's already flashed, or I'd take 1.01 and a mid-1st added if QB needy.
For Jacobs, I'd definitely entertain that offer of multiple late 1sts.
For Akers, I'd want to get at least one top tier non-QB in the draft to ideally take a shot at Harris, Williams, or Etienne to replace Akers, plus a solid young player in return added.

1.09+1.12 is an easy pass for Akers. But it would be a very easy accept for Jacobs, though that’s highly unlikely.Sooner_Cat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:40 pmWould you not entertain any offers on multiple late 1sts? Saquon:
With it being SF (assuming 12+ teams) I want 2 first round picks, at least one in the top 4, and I want a promising young WR with upside. If you must, I'm fine with getting 3 2021 firsts with 1 being in the top 4, but I'd rather already know where my young promising WR is.
Jacobs:
This is a guy i'm looking to sell as soon as possible in a rebuild tbh. Two late firsts is probably where its at, or a late first and a young promising wr. But two late firsts.
Akers:
In a rebuild (depending on how far away you truely are) I'm okay holding onto him. I don't think we see LAR take another RB in before day 3 this year, so I doubt he will lose value before off season. I also liked what I saw and the direction of the team at the end of the year. I do want to see them continue to invest in their O-line, but I think you can hold Akers and sell him during the season for more. Now I'm fine making him available and if you get blown away by an offer, accepting it (like a top 4-6 pick) but I'm fine keeping him if the best you get is a late 1st.

Re: What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?
i get the hitch to draft and do something for a newly acquired team, but you generally lose value. barkley gets a barkley-like start of the season and you get a proper haul for him. and speaking about this class, QBs aside, it is pretty poor: other than chase, smith and harris, i don't see potential superstars. some will hit of course, but then you have to guess who and be right, otherwise you just lost your top assets for next to nothing, which is why i don't like picks-only deals, unless they're all very early picks (and even then...).Sooner_Cat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:31 pm My question is: what price would you look to sell any/all of these guys for at the moment? i would do jacobs for two late 1sts, but i doubt it gets accepted.
Re: What price should rebuilding teams sell top-end RBs pre-draft?
I'm okay with moving Jacobs and Barkley for the ranges mentioned above.
However, I'd prefer to keep Akers unless I was blown away by the offer. Akers is young enough to fit into a rebuild and still be producing when you're ready to compete.
