Help with pick 1.5

Postby gman6199 » Sat Apr 03, 2021 11:00 pm

I’m in a 10 team 1pt PPR Dynasty league. I need help with pick 1.5. I’m going to assume ETN, Harris, J Williams and Chase are off the board. Thus I’m looking at Smith, Waddle, Bateman or Pitts at 1.5. I also have been offered 1.8 and 1.9 for my 1.5.

I do like Smith but his size is a concern. Pitts is going to be a stud but is my thinking flawed to think that a WR is more valuable then a TE. I know I’m super light at RB and if one of the top 3 falls to me I’m going RB with 1.5 but that is wishful thinking. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

QB: Hurts, Mayfield
RB: Gibson, Dobbins, Michel, McKissic, Edwards, Mack, Boone
WR: Golliday, OBJ, Jeudy, Pittman, C Davis, R Anderson, Crowder, G Davis, M Calloway, A Tate, P Campbell
TE: L Thomas, OJ Howard, Jarwin
DEF: Pittsburg
K: Zuerlein

Smith easily for me. He checks all the boxes outside of size and has all the tools.

Meh, I make the trade back for back-to-back picks. I'm sorry, but your starters in a 10 team league are not very good. And I don't see a heck of a lot of depth. It looks like you need a little bit of everything and are rebuilding. Hence, more 1st rounders is better than less 1st rounders. If you decide to use the pick, I could go either way with Smith and Pitts right now. Landing spot might put one ahead of the other. Good luck.

WR: Adams, Keenan Allen, Evans, Mooney, Juju, Corey Davis, G.Davis, Van Jefferson, Chark, Atwell
TE: Kelce, Waller, Tonyan, Brate, Taysom

Team 2. PPR. 14 teamer. 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 2 wr/rb, 1 wr/te 1 te, k, p, various IDP
QB: Hurts, Ryan, Watson
RB: Barkley, Mixon, CEH, Penny, Gibson, Hunt
Rhamondre
WR: Hill, Adams, Chase, Brown, Toney, Chark, Gage, Campbell, OBJ, Reagor, Mims, Marshall, Wandale, Bell,

I would take Smith at 1.05 if he’s still on the board. He reminds me so much of Marvin Harrison. Now, I doubt Smith goes anywhere where he’ll be paired with a future Peyton Manning, but I think he will be productive nonetheless.

I think trading down is probably your best option. If you stick with the 1.05 I would look at Bateman/Smith

I actually lean Waddle over Smith, but I put Pitts above both
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Trade down. You're getting 2 picks to fall back 3 spots. Whether it's 1.05 or 1.08, your odds of hitting/missing are approximately the same. Therefore, why not double your odds by having two back-to-back picks? If you luck into hitting both, your team will be much improved. If you only hit one, you're no worse than if you had hit with your 1.05 pick.

Yeah, I have to admit I like this line of thinking. I have the 1.05 for one of my teams, and if I was offered that package I'd be glad to take it.

Trade down or alternatively--rather than draft Pitts (who I like) see if you can package the pick for Waller/Kelce/Kittle--probably can't but worth a shot
