Higgins value with Chase

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Also, there’s no guarantee that Chase will pan out, so I think people are over-reacting to how it would affect Higgins.
Look at it this way.
How did Higgins affect Boyd's numbers last season?
How did Lamb affect Gallup's numbers?
How did Claypool affect JuJu's number?

You're right. If Higgins proves to be the better receiver, he'll get his stats. However, I don't know anyone/scout/reporter/fan who thinks Higgins is a better talent than Chase.
I agree about Chase being more talented. My only argument was that Higgins value would be hurt more than T.Boyd. I think there’s a decent case to say that if Chase is as good as advertised, the opposition will key on him more which theoretically could help Higgins. Who knows for sure though? Ultimately, I think the Bengals will be in enough high scoring games that their WRs will continue to get enough targets to produce solid numbers, maybe a slight dip to Boyd and or Higgins.

I think he'll be solid either way. Not WR1 level, but solid. Another hour or so, and we'll know who Cincy chooses.

aj green had 100 targets last season, so higgins' share shouldn't plummet. sure, it's hard to imagine it will go up (although the 6 games they played without burrow they passed a lot less, so it still might), but with all the weapons they have, the quality of his touches should go up.
ceiling capped though.

I guess we know which WR Cincy plans to be its WR1. You don't spend a OVR 5th pick for anything other than a top spot.

You're right about the targets Killer. As pitiful a season as AJ had last year, he did command a lot of targets. At worst, it's possible Higgins' numbers are no worse than last year's stats. That's gets him off the bench for most fantasy teams. With a little improvement in production, he could climb to be a consistent low-end WR2 - assuming 12-team, starting 2or3WR, with 1or2FLX.

But I think Chase's presence eliminates any chance Higgins can be a WR1 or even a top end WR2.

Yeah I definitely think it can value takes a hit. I was estimating him to be a future long-term fantasy WR1 tied to Burrow, and that's unlikely now. I still think he has a bright future, but any dreams of him becoming AJ Green Mk. II seem shot.

I think Cinncy was on pace for the 3rd most past attempts until Burrow went down. AJ Green shockingly had 104 targets (47 catches or something). Boyd and Higgins both had 100+. I imagine Chase takes those 104 + a lot more. If Burrow stays on the field, I don't see why all 3 can't post 100+ targets and remain steady to where they were. As an owner of Burrow, Higgins and Boyd, I was pissed off at first, but think it could work out well. Agree, Higgins is capped now and won't be that 1WR.
