14 Team 2QB TE Premium Startup

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I like your top two WRs, but in a start 2 RB league, your RBs could be rough. Depending on who was available, I would have looked for a different option in the 7th round. What RBs are left now?

My idea was to go for a zero RB strategy until later in the draft, and the just grab some older/backup/committee guys. Wanted to solidify my QB/WR core and then maybe make some moves in-season/keep an eye on the waiver wire.

Not the most exciting guys left - Rojo, DJ, Drake, Edmonds, Connor, the Buff backfield, guys like that. But I do have the 1.05 in the rookie draft, so hoping for some good RB value there.

And clearly I took a huge risk on Watson in the 1st. I don’t know how much people are fading him, but I figured I would take a shot due to his upside.

Not sure I like the obj pick. Shocked you got goff at 6.05.
Really like your first 6 picks. I'd keep hammering young wrs and look to flip brady and goff in season for youth. How are rookies being done? I'd also look to target Love. Without rbs you're 2021 doesn't look promising but with your qb/wr build 2022+ looks good. Love could be another starter then.

I don't like the Brady pick with Goff there 2 rounds later. Obviously you need some RB, but if you're going to bypass a position in a startup, that's the one to do it at

Yeah I don’t love OBJ but I think he was one of the youngish WRs left that had the most weekly upside and hopefully a steady floor. A couple of the guys I was targeting got snagged before this pick, so I figured what the hell. Also sorta hoping he gets moved this offseason.

Rookie picks are being done in reverse order of startup. I don’t particularly like this method, and would have preferred rookie draft positions included in the startup, but whatever. 1.05 is a nice spot in a 2QB TE premium.

I like the Love idea, could pay off greatly next year. I don’t really know what round to target him but I guess I’ll try to play it by ear.

And as far as RBs, I’ll patch something together. I’ve won leagues before with guys like Danny Woodhead starting, so I feel confident in being able to grab some later round RBs with some production...with a little luck.

The Brady pick was a bit of a panic move I guess. There was a run of QBs in the first and early second, obviously, but I feel like Brady has just about as much long term security as Goff. Plus, with the Watson stuff going on, I wanted to have at least one safe starting QB for the next 2 years. And hell, maybe he ends up playing 5 more years. He certainly didn’t look old last year.

I think with a zero-RB strategy that would lend itself to a productive struggle approach. Some of the picks (Brady, Beckham) kind of run counter to that and I can see that leaving your team in the murky middle. Hopefully, your league is an active trading league and you can make moves to help your desired team build.

The league was formed with the most active amongst several of the commish’s leagues, so here’s hoping we have a very trade happy league. I do agree that normally a zero-RB strat wouldn’t equal a competitive team, but I’m hoping to be able to hit on a couple late round guys that would give me some production. It’s risky of course, but so was drafting Watson. I’m prob screwed anyway if he doesn’t play. Hopefully the rest of my team is good enough to compensate for my lackluster (eventual) RBs.

Update...finally grabbed a RB in the 10th. Being a ppr, I figured Hines had some solid production even with Taylor in town. Figure the Indy offense should be at least as productive as last year as far as ppg. Here’s hoping that those 10th round and later RBs can produce for me.

Is Hines your first starting RB?

Yeah I’ve got eyes on a couple RBs still available, plus I have the 1.05 in the rookie draft...and I’m assuming a couple of those first picks are QBs. Sooo.

The 1.05 should help.
