Should I take this trade or pass?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to do with this offer?

Make the trade, McLaurin & Akers are worth it!

Should I take this trade or pass?

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Fri Mar 26, 2021 5:02 am

Been on the fence for days. 12 team PPR dynasty. I'm defending champ. We start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 regular flex

Give: Dobbins, Evans, 1.12
Get: Akers, McLaurin, 2.4

Roster:
Mahomes, D. Jones, T. Hill
Chubb, Dobbins, Zeke, Jacobs, Edmonds, Lindsay, Henderson
Hill, Hopkins, Thomas, Evans, Hollywood Brown, Preston Williams, Hardman
Kelce, Engram

My issue all along is that I feel the draft pick swap is unwarranted, but other owner won't make the trade without. Suck it up and make the trade or stand pat?

It's all pretty close, but I'd stay put.

The pick is the biggest factor here as all assets are relatively close. The pick drop back is not a big one, but I would hold. I do prefer McLaurin to Evans but I think Dobbins is in a slightly better running system than Akers.

To me, both sides are near equal, if you remove the picks. So I agree with you.

That being the case, seems like if you value one side over the other, it's a decent price to get your guys. If you don't, there's no reason to lose value by swapping picks.

I think this is very even overall and comes down to preference. I think Dobbins is a better talent and in a more run-heavy system. I think Akers is great to, but having Stafford now, I could see some work shifting away that may have been there with Goff. I prefer McLaurin to Evans about the same as 1.12 over 2.04 in 1QB. I would lean toward holding, mainly because I think Dobbins will break out in a big way, but could see going either direction.

Terry and Evans are pretty close in my book, so I'll take the younger player, and I like Akers over Dobbins enough to make the deal. I know it's draft pick season but the gap between 1.12 and 2.04 in 1QB doesn't mean as much to me as it does others.

I'd hold. Value looks even at first, but the more I think on it, it also feels like it has the constant under-selling of Mike Evans baked into it. He's obv outproduced McLaurin to this point, he's on the better team/better situation. And McLaurin is only 2 years younger than him, so I don't think age is that much of a factor here. I see Dobbins vs Akers as a wash. And I think there is a decent enough value drop between 1.12 and 2.04 to see it as a difference maker. Most of the mocks I've been doing, you get your favorite of that 2nd tier of WR there at the turn (AR ST.Brown/Marshall/Moore, etc), with the 2.04 you're hoping your guy falls but likely either taking the leftovers or reaching for someone. Been my experience pre-NFL draft so far at least, YMMV

Get Akers and Mclaurin man they have the biggest upside and your just dropping back a few spots.
I'm not high on Dobbins tho. I'd easily take Akers side

Give me the McLaurin and Akers side as well, but it’s mainly because the gap between McLaurin and Evans is greater than the drop from 1.10 to 2.04 for me. Dobbins and Akers are a pick em.

Looks like a lateral move to me. If you have clairvoyant powers and can see that Akers will be better than Dobbins and Terry > Evans, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd hold.

The love Akers is getting this offseason is insane. Dobbins was better than him entering the draft, last year and will be again this year. And Evans>=McLaurin.

I like this post. And agree that Evans/McLaurin are close enough that I don't like the drop in picks. Additionally, I prefer Dobbins to Akers to start with, so I'd be inclined to hold.

I like this deal. Evans and McLaurin are similar for me. Akers projects as a true workhorse and In McVays offense we’ve seen how valuable that role is with Gurley. While Dobbins is good and should be very efficient he’s just going to be the 1a with Edwards there and won’t see the passing volume as long as Lamar is the QB. The move down 4 spots is nothing if you’re getting a workhorse.
