Deshaun Epstein Watson

Postby Dynastydumpsterfire » Thu Mar 25, 2021 6:22 am

Will he step on and NFL field ever again? Not in sig i was offered an early 3rd for him. Is it crazy for me to want to accept that as I have nobody else in the league interested and I want out.

He is a straight hold at this point. I dont think his career is over even if he misses some time.

Hes a hold because his value has tanked. If you wanted out like i do what do you think would get it done? Do you see anyone paying a second for him right now. Would you pay that?

I would for sure pay a 2nd...he is still top talent and even if he never pays again I'll take that chance.

Yes. If I had a second I would pay that for Watson. Hell, I just paid a 3rd for Taysom Hill in a SF, I will take the chance on watson for a 2 lol

Dumb thread. Even if EVERYTHING is true and proven he wouldn’t get much more than 3-6 games.

I just offered ARob, Taysom and an early 2nd for him in SF and expect that to be declined super fast.

Pretty much this. These are civil cases. I think its likely that he receives some type of suspension but not much else besides that.

I think everyone will try to low ball you currently. I doubt a 2nd could be had unfortunately. Remember Hill a few years back, he was being sold for 3rds. I can understand wanting out, but I think it's a really bad time. I think this situation could level out a bit in the coming months and his value will rebound to some extent.

First of all, your thread title...please just be better than that.

Now, on to the trade. I am one of the first people to say never let sunk cost fallacy be the reason you hold a player. However, nothing has even happened that actually drops Watson’s value. He wasn’t cut, hasn’t been suspended, hasn’t been charged with-let alone convicted of-anything. I can understand wanting out, but there’s no point getting railroaded in a trade this early in the process of his current situation.

Watson is a hold if you have him, unless you get pre-issues value. For those who don’t have him, he’s a great buy low opportunity from folks with the same angle that you are taking here. I don’t mean that to sound critical, because opinions are opinions, and there’s no right or wrong with them. Just saying that I would be looking to take advantage of your willingness to cut bait if I were your league mate.

Don't sell for that. He just went in one of my 1QB leagues for Big Ben (irony anyone?) and what should be a mid 2022 1st.

We've seen situations come up in the past where people swore that guys like Tyreek Hill, AP and Kareem Hunt would never step on the field ever again only for those guys to play the following season. For better or worse, Watson is too young and too good not to get another chance.
