Have Lamar do I draft TLaw if he drops?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Have Lamar do I draft TLaw if he drops?

Postby Finfansteve » Wed Mar 17, 2021 9:13 pm

One qb keeper league. Start one Qb 1rb/2wr/1te/2flex at rb/we/te. I am 4 deep at rb, 5 deep at wr, and 2 deep at te. I own the 1.03 in this league draft and already have Lamar. League setup is a point for every 100 yards passing, 1 point for every 20 yards rushing, six points for any td, and one point per first down either passing/running/receiving. No contracts in the league you can have a guy for 20 years drafting him as a rookie if he lasts that long.

Is he worth drafting to replace Lamar if he makes it to my pick at 1.03?
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Not in 1qb. I would take one of Harris, Chase, or Etienne.

If you really want Trevor you could try to trade down for him though that may be risky. I just wouldnt invest much beyond Lamar in 1qb. RB and WR is the meat and potatoes of a good roster.

I would be taking Chase or Smith here. Lawrence is a nice late 1st target even in a 1 QB league, but this is too early in my opinion.

1.03 in 1QB? Heck naw..

The real answer is that yes, you take Trevor, if he drops. You should almost always go BPA in rookie drafts.

There's an argument for him in the late-1st, early-2nd.. but there's zero chance he's BPA at 1.03.

I wouldn’t invest in a QB that early in 1QB under pretty much any realistic scoring settings. If your team is stacked to the point that you don’t feel the need to add whoever BPA is at 1.03, then I would look to trade back a bit and pick up some additional future assets or a bit later pick with a player swap and get a starter upgrade somewhere, then take Lawrence at a later spot if you want him.

Don't think BPA would be Lawrence in 1 QB. How many teams? If 16 and your set on drafting him, I'd still look to move back. IMO can never be too deep at rb/wr

1.03 in a 1Qb league is too early to draft him even if you had a Potato as your starting QB.

With Lamar it becomes even less of a priority. If he is your guy at least trade back to mid late first and add some value.

Thanks guys you’ve pretty much echoed what I’ve been thinking on how to use the pick but you start hearing about him being compared to elway/Manning/luck that it started to get me thinking. I haven’t used a first round pick on a qb in this (or any) league since I took Bernie kosar in the first round of the initial draft in this league back in 1987. That didn’t turn out well for me and I have never since. It’ll be rb/wr for me at that pick
