Matty Ice SF Trade - Salary Cap SF

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Matty Ice SF Trade - Salary Cap SF

Postby Bay City Original » Tue Mar 16, 2021 4:18 pm

In a 12 team, Salary Cap Super Flex league, I received an offer of Tyler Lockett for Matt Ryan.

The context is:
$200 Salary Cap League, neither player is someone I would consider retaining after their contracts expire, unless through a UFA process.
Tyler Lockett is 1 year for $24 per year
Matt Ryan is 2 years for $29 per year

There's still a lot of off-season action happening so the direction of my team is still in limbo so the current build of my team shouldn't be too much of a factor about "needing" a player or not because the signing of other FAs will still be happening. Currently I have:
QB: Hopkins, Ryan, Cam, Tyrod
RB: Chubb, Gordon, Lindsay, Dallas
WR: AJB, Ridley
TE: Kittle

Is the offer of Ryan for Lockett an fair offer or should I be asking for more with Lockett?

All things considered with similar contracts, this is easily Ryan for me in SF. Great or not, Ryan is a starting QB tor the last two contract years in your league.

Keep Ryan. You know your league and what players go for but $24 seems high for Lockett, especially with SF.

I’d keep Ryan here. I would much rather have him for those 2 years at an additional $5 per than Lockett in SF.

SF, middling QB > middling WR

For this specific offer, Matt Ryan is the way to go.

That’s what I was thinking. Is asking for the 1.08 on top of Lockett too much to ask?

If the other owner wants Ryan, it does not hurt to ask. Ryan is still a solid asset in SF in my opinion though.

I would need some salary information to answer this one.
Salary of the 1.08? <---- Helps me determine the value of a rookie pick in your league.
Starting Requirements? <----- Helps me determine value of position
Salary and number of years left on contract of each individual player on your team? <---- Helps me determine value of your team/individual players.
