Big SF trade

Postby PPE82 » Wed Mar 10, 2021 5:59 pm

Team in sig. SF and heavy TE premium.

Enough for Lawrence?

Send: 1.01 (Lawrence)
Receive: 1.03/1.11/Claypool

With my QB room, I can afford to miss out on Lawrence. I would be targeting Pitts and either Chase/Najee at 1.03/1.05.

Thoughts?

Fair value to me but I’d want to “win” the trade if moving Lawrence.

If the 1.11 was more around the 1.8ish range I would say that's a win. Or possibly if it was the 1.02 and 1.11.

QB: Davis Mills, Kenny Pickett, Sam Darnold, Matt Corral
WR: Chris Godwin, A.J Brown, D.K. Metcalf, Jerry Jeudy, Jalen Reagor, Allen Lazard, K.J. Osborn, Skyy Moore, Tutu Atwell, Greg Dortch
RB: Josh Jacobs, Khalil Herbert, Tyson Chandler, Ronald Jones, K Gainwell
TE: Robert Tonyan, David Njoku, Jonnu Smith, Gerald Everett, Jelani Woods
2023: 1.05, 1.08

Who would you be looking to take at 1.02. I am expecting that pick to be RB. So QB2/Chase/Pitts/ETN should be there at 3

Decent value overall, but a mid 1st instead of the 1.11 would be great if it's an option. I think the offers might ramp up as the hype continues to grow. Not necessarily on draft day, but leading up to.

I get that Lawrence’s hype and prospects are very high, but I think that 1.11/Claypool is very fair compensation to move back to 1.03 without having a glaring need at QB. That said, I couldn’t fault you for holding off to see if a bigger offer presents itself.

Any other opinions? Tough one for me. Feels like it helps my build, but don’t want to lose Lawrence or miss out on a better offer later.

It's a good deal for you, but I think it's the wrong deal for your team. I'd rather the trade netted additional RB help. Your league lineup rules alleviate the lack of good RBs on your roster, but I think you're treading too close to the edge there.

You're strong enough at QB and receivers. I like targeting Pitts with your pick, but I'd target RBs in the trade instead of Claypool. I like Claypool, but he's not yet a solid WR2, much less WR1, and being second to DJ might keep Claypool in that WR3 range all season. I'd want to trade to deliver a surefire dependable player, top 13-20 producer. Claypool has youth on his side, but trading for him is targeting projections more than proven production. Most sites I see have him ranked around WR30 or further back. IMO, in SF that and 1.11 is not enough for someone to pay to acquire a QB most everyone thinks will be a top10 QB for the next 15 years. I like the 1.03+1.11 parts of the deal, but push for a better player. I'd much rather see you add a high-end RB2 or low-end RB1 in this trade.

It's a decent deal for you to receive, but it just feels like it's too little to pay to get the kind of QB we all think TLaw is going to be.

I concur with this.
