Barkley Health

Postby PhillySpecial » Wed Mar 10, 2021 4:55 am

Are any Barkley owners worried about his future health? I acquired Barkley for a good price (2022 1st and three current/future 2nds) when he went down but I wasn't aware of the extent of his injury (ACL, MCL, Meniscus). I follow the news on Barkley and the NYG are mostly negative on his fifth year option, Barkley doesn't post any workout updates, and I see no 'hype' articles.

Any thoughts? Do I hold for a few months and start making offers once the 'hype' begins?

At the price you acquired him, I think he's worth holding onto. If nothing else, I believe there will be a window where his value will spike much closer to the season and may be a good time to see if you can net a profit over buy-in cost. Selling now would be selling at a low point on his market, which is never ideal, but we're also nowhere near sunk cost territory with him so no need to panic sell IMO.

Great deal for you when you acquired him. I would hold outside of a big overpay. He should come back healthy and have a few big years left.

You acquired him for a great price after the injury. For now he's definitely a hold and see how he comes back from injury as you won't get near the value you should for him. Haven't heard much about his progress either though but gotta hope he has a few good-great years left.

I am definitely holding and seeing how the recovery process goes with Saquon. My concern is more so the future years for him. He has some injuries piling up and is almost at that dreaded second contract for RBs. I love the talent but it has been a decline since his rookie year.
