James Robinson vs. Tee Higgins

Postby kmbryant09 » Sun Mar 07, 2021 7:15 pm

For my team in sig, which won the championship last year.

I'm very strong at RB with CEH, M. Sanders, J.K. Dobbins, A. Gibson, J. Robinson, C. Edmonds, M. Gaskin, T. Pollard, and P. Lindsay. I'm also pretty thin at WR after A.J. Brown, C. Ridley, D. Johnson, OBJ, J. Reagor, D. Mooney.

Who do you value more - J. Robinson or T. Higgins?

For what it's worth, I own the 1.08 and 2.05 so I feel like I can add some WR depth with those picks.

The Higgins owner offered me Higgins & '23 2nd for Robinson, Lindsay & '22 2nd.

Don't think we're that far off, but trying to get the picks reversed so I get the slight bump.

Thoughts?

I would try to hold out the 2nd on your side, but either way I would make the deal. I value Higgins over Robinson as is, but easily long term. You have the depth that this deal does not hurt you either if Robinson continues where he left off last year.

If this is "thin at WR", I don't want imagine what being "stocked" would look like. You have 2 high-end WR1, 2 solid WR2, and 2 promising youngsters. Where exactly do you seen the "thinness"?

JRob side. I like Higgins a lot but RBs are more scarce.

Fair point and I appreciate the perspective. I feel like Ridley & Diontae are going to face some question marks moving forward as their teams try and find replacement QBs as early as next year.

I love OBJ, but hard to trust him as a starter coming off an ACL injury and his track record in CLE.

I also like Reagor & Mooney, but they are far from trustworthy at this point.

Historically I have built my teams around 3 or 4 stud WRs and tried to patch-work the RB position year over year. It worked in part because the RB position is so volatile, so I want to make sure I don't go into a season too reliant on the position.

I’d be taking Higgins here pretty easily. He’s a better long term asset and you have the RB depth to not miss Robinson.

The real weakness on your team is TE, and I would focus my resources there. Instead of trying to get Higgins, why not package OBJ and Engram and go shopping for a real TE1?

I like the value of Higgins over Robinson so if you feel you can give up Robinson I would make the trade. The one thing I don't like with the trade offer is the 23 2nd as that's to far into the future for me.

Well, I made the deal last night. Couldn't get the other owner to budge off the picks, but yesterday's quotes from the Jaguars GM made me nervous.

Too bad the picks had to stay in, but I think you will be very pleased with Higgins over the years to come.
