What Can I Get With 3 Late 2nds?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What Can I Get With 3 Late 2nds?

Postby briank » Fri Mar 05, 2021 4:17 pm

I have too many picks and need to consolidate some assets. I already have 6 1sts, 3 early 2nds, and 3 late 2nds. I prefer quantity over quality, so I'm trying to trade these 3 late 2nds for a player. I've already tried to trade them for a late 1st. I've also tried a few players I like Dillon, Aiyuk, James Robinson...

I'm looking for some ideas, specifically a single player that might be had for 2.10, 2.11, and 2.12.

Nice crop of picks to help any build, that will be a super fun draft for you! Tough call as this could be very league dependent. Have you put the three late 2nds on the block to see what offers come?

Aiming too high for players listed at rebuffed attempts. Plus everyone in your league probably knows what you are trying to accomplish so they're not going to do you any favours for your worst picks.
As Gator said, put them on the block. You will likely not get much now but after the NFL Draft, you'll likely see more interest.

Those picks don’t generate much interest now. But OTC, those picks will be red hot. Especially to the owners who traded away picks. So I’d hold tight for now. I’d also target the weaker teams and trade for 2022 picks.

I would hold off on trying to move those later 2nds for now, wait until in-draft and the value will bump significantly.

With Half the picks in the first two round, id hold and control the draft. At some point another team might want to get into the rounds or move up to a desired player... let them come to you otherwise, pick BPA! Having them come to you will allow you to also control the negotiations a bit. You might get some good deals to stock yourself witb next years picks too.

You should have lots of fun... and if you’re not, you’re trying too hard to make something happen!

I do what others have suggested in this thread, which is keep my picks and deal them at the draft.

Invariably, when those late 2nd's come up there will be teams who have their eye on a player (but no picks) who will be willing to strike a deal with you. You may be worried about being stuck with picks you can't/don't want to use, but I've never been in a situation where I couldn't get something for a pick.

Especially if they're picks you can't use, might as well flip them for 2022 (or even 2023) picks. In-season, those future picks are always nice ammo to have if you need a sweetener to get a trade completed. Or, you just kick the can down the road and work with the extra assets in the future. It's a nice position to be in.

Another option could lie with combining early and late 2nds to move up or even including a late 1st in a pick package to get earlier 1sts.
