Difference between Brady and Jimmy G?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Difference between Brady and Jimmy G?

Postby Crouchy » Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:20 pm

This team is not likely contending in 2021 but has Brady. I can shift him for Jimmy G plus a little something.

In picks, something like a mid third. Or is Jimmy G a sideways move in that if he does start in 2021 he may only get one year as a starter guaranteed and also is injury prone.

Jimbo has the age, but the uncertainty surrounding him makes him a risk. Brady could be a starter longer than he is in reality. Is this a SF league or 1 QB?

oh yeah, more details. It is superflex. My other QB is Lamar but I have no other QBs apart from Tyrod Taylor or Mullens.

I am assuming Brady retires after this season but maybe I am wrong!

I’d keep Brady here pretty much regardless of details. If you want to offload him, wait until in-season and see if a better offer comes along.

yeah I guess you are right, when those QBs get injured and people get stuck with someone. I just don't want to get left holding the bag when Brady retires!

I can understand that. His value is tough due to age, but I wonder if you get a bit more in-season from a contender. Who knows when Brady will actually retire??

Brady will be a better producer than Garoppolo in-season, so your best return is likely to be then. I'd advertise your asking price (mine would be 2022 1st but I think all guaranteed starters in SF are worth a 1st) now so the others in your league know what it is. They probably won't pay it now but they will remember who's available when they need a QB in-season.

Wait until the season starts and Brady has a nice game then look to sell. I wouldn't sell now, you wouldn't get value.

The main difference is one starts every game each season while the other doesn’t. I would want a more sure starter to move on from Brady. I like the idea of waiting to move him in season.

If it was Jimmy and a 2 I’d be happy to accept that and risk Jimmy having a future. The 3 seems light
