Took over an orphan

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Took over an orphan

Postby smmcfarl » Mon Mar 01, 2021 12:49 pm

Just took over this orphan in a 10 team league. All td's=6pts RB/WR 1PPR TE 1.5PPR

Starting Reqs: 1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 3Flex

Picks- 1.02, 2.09, 3.02

QB: Rodgers, Ryan, Roethlisberger
RB: Chubb, Swift, MG3, Gurley, Bernard, Mattison, Ingram
WR: Diggs, Ridley, Higgins, Jeudy, C. Davis, AB, Ruggs, A.J. Green
TE: Henry, Ertz, Bryant

What's the outlook for this team. I love the young core of Swift, Higgins and Jeudy and I'm very high on Ridley and Chubb. I'll have to try to and get a younger QB at some point but in 6pt td's Rodgers will be great for a couple more years at least.

Trades have started to come in like usual when a new guy takes over neither of which seem like good options as it either takes my youth/high pick or is just not enough.

Give: Swift
Get: Monty, 2.10

Give: Swift, Higgins, 1.02
Get: Tyreek Hill, Ekeler, Herbert

Nice build overall for an orphan team. This team has a shot to make a run in year 1 if you can add a bit of depth to your RB core. As far as the offers go, I would easily pass on the first deal and the second deal is solid value, but I would probably pass. The value is solid in the second deal, but I think Swift is a better option than Ekeler and this deal hurts you long term there. I certainly would not fault anyone for making that deal due to Hill and Herbert, but I would pass. I would be more apt to look at this deal longer if you could flip Rodgers for RB help, but I think that is a long shot at best.

I like the team overall. Very nice building blocks for an orphan takeover here. I would pass on both of the trade offers, but trade 2 is tempting. I would just rather roll with what you have and keep building on what's already here.

Offer 1 is terrible. Offer 2 is slightly better but this is basically your entire future for Hill (I'm not very high on Ekeler). Easy pass.

Agreed with others. I like the makeup of the team and think you will be competing. Reject both offers IMO. With the 1.02 you will get a RB or if you want to just keep adding towards your great core of WR. The 2.09 I think you will be able to take your shot at QB maybe Fields or Wilson. I would think at your 3.02 Wilson will be there (as of current rankings). Now for me personally, if Davis has a nice landing spot I would try to sell him, I would also sell Ruggs send offers to 1.10-2.03 range IMO. Never been a fan of either so very biased. Also see if anyone has interest in AB but I doubt you get much but never hurts to try. In a 10 team league I just doubt he will carry much value. Might get your next QB with him though. Good luck

I'd be looking to get anything you can for mg3 and Gurley right now, maybe an early second for both? Can't envision a situation where they would become producers/flex-plays no matter what team they play for, competition, etc. Just can't see it personally.

As for the trades, I might have missed it but I'm guessing its 1qb? If so I'd have to decline both offers. i think that 1.02 will be quite valuable to replenish your rb core.

Agree with the advice to decline both trades. 2nd one you would be sending 3 of the top 4 assets, imo.

Trade 1 is an easy reject. Trade 2 is intriguing, but I still think I’d keep your pieces there.
