Wentz trade value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Wentz trade value

Postby zaner75 » Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:09 pm

14 team PPR SF - no TE premium

Would you consider trading Wentz for either Waller or 1.06? Wentz is my QB3 behind Jackson and Herbert.

In a 14 team SF league, I would probably hold Wentz here. Having three starters in this format is huge.

Are you competing? If so, I think I'd probably hold Wentz in this situation as I imagine you'd be picking the best of what's left at QB at 1.06. And you'll want that 3rd QB to cover BYE's. It's not TE premium, so while Waller is great, I probably wouldn't move Wentz for him unless he's a guy you really want. Or are devoid of talent at TE.

If you're rebuilding, then I'd trade Wentz for the pick, and get an extra young player to help in your process. It's not that Wentz is old or anything, but if you've only got two QB's, you'll just have to start another position in your SF, probably lose, then continue your rebuild into 2022 with a better draft position than you'd otherwise have.

If you have a shot at making a run this year, I’d hold Wentz as your QB3 in case of emergency/bye weeks. Otherwise, I like 1.06.

There only are 32 QBs starting each week in the NFL maximum. It would seem having a reliable QB3 would give you a leg up when it comes to bye weeks and injuries. I think Wentz is worth more than the 1.06, but even so his value will be greater once the season starts and he shows he still has it.

Example of bye/injury issues: for Panthers I had a solid QB room going into the season. At some point, all but Stafford suffered injuries or were benched. I got bounced in the first round of the playoffs. I would’ve had a better seed and better luck in said playoffs had I had those QBs at full strength.
