Team Feedback *Post-Draft Update*

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Team Feedback *Post-Draft Update*

Postby DynastyDabbler » Sat Feb 20, 2021 7:48 pm

Overall I’m happy with my team. I think I could use a better QB and better insurance behind Kittle. I really suffered last season with Kittle out.

Heading into the draft I have the 1.03 & 1.04 + two 2nds. I assume I should go best play available but it’s tempting to grab Lawrence and Pitts but that’s just fueled by the hype. Based in off the team in my sig. what would recommend I do?

Yeah, you should have a much better QB in a 10-team league. The other positions seem stocked. What kind of IDP format is it? Just LBs?

My Qb situation has been a struggle from the get go that’s why I want to say screw it and swing on Lawrence.

IDP requirements are to start 3 at any defensive position

I would go BPA with the picks, I definitely wouldn’t be using one of those picks on Lawrence though. If you’re willing to give that kind of draft capital for a QB in 1QB, I would offer 1.04 for a proven stud QB and mitigate the risk.

Are there any QBs available on the market? Overall your team is in pretty solid shape. Another top end RB prospect would be a nice add but as always, BPA maximizes value across the board. A QB upgrade would be big as you mentioned in your post.

My league is pretty quiet right now unfortunately but they’ll perk up closer to draft time. I’ve had bad luck tasting for QBs over the years (Mariota, Garoppolo, Mayfield). I’ll leave my options open though!

I'm sure when you traded for those QBs, they all looked like big time up and coming top tier QBs. I remember how pricey and good Mariota looked after that one year. It's always tough when leagues go quiet because the offseason can be the best time to buy, but hopefully you can have a couple options when things get rolling again.

I too would look in the QB market and see what is out there. Dont just buy a random QB. Your looking for a proven stud if you are giving up an early 1st trying to compete. Watson, Allen, Lamar, Murray, Herbert, Wilson is where I'd start.

If you cant get those guys for a reasonable price, look to buy Rodgers, Stafford, even Brady for a cheaper price. Mid to late 2nd.

I'd try to acquire an RB1. You have great depth but lacking at star power. Consolidate two RBs for a stud like JT, Barkley, Swift.

For TEs, I wouldn't pay for a top end TE just to sit the bench. Maybe see if any mid range guys are available, like Henry, Goedert, Engram, Gesicki. Keep rostering several "could be" TEs. These guys put up TE1 numbers fairly regularly year to year, like Thomas, Tonyan, Schultz this year.

Draft BPA and dont worry about team need. You have assets to trade for team need.

Wanted to give a post draft update. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Team in sig..

I really like how things played out. I’ll have to cut down to 30 by week 1. Right now that looks tough but I’m hoping I can piece some guys together for a proven stud.

1.03 - J.Chase
1.04 - T. Etienne
2.04 - Michael Carter
2.07 - Trey Lance
4.04 - FA Tre’Quan Smith
5.04 - FA A. Trautman
6.04 - FA D. Jones
7.04 - Jake Funk
