Trying to trade CMC

For team 1 sig, Lamar Jackson just got put on the trade block so I thought about making an offer for him. The guy is a contender for sure and his RB’s aren’t spectacular. What kind of value should he have to add with Jackson to make a fair offer for CMC? Thanks in advance!

In a 12 team SF league, I might be on the minority, but I prefer Jackson more long term. His upside is almost unmatched in SF and CMC is approaching the RB cliff from a value standpoint.

I really don’t think that there should be an expectation for either side to add here since it’s SF. If you can get this done straight up, I would. Getting Lamar to pair with Burrow is a nice start to building this team up and gives you a lot of years to do so without having to fret about QB. I’d focus on QB (this deal takes care of that), then focus on building up your WR group. These 2 position groups give you a foundation with a long window and then you can sprinkle in RBs later to compete. Just a thought, but I’d also maybe see if you could get a haul to trade back from 1.02 to stockpile more assets.

If you are looking to rebuild, I would send CMC straight up for LJax. It's an honest deal. I would then look to move the players below in bold and accumulate as many draft picks and young talent as possible.

QB: Burrow, Winston, Trubisky, Kyle Allen, Stidham, Rosen
RB: CMC, Lindsay, Mattison, Snell, Gallman, Samuels
WR: Aiyuk, Kirk, Hilton, Tyler Johnson, Arcega-Whiteside, Bisi Johnson, Harmon, Swain, KJ Hill, Dez Bryant, Isaiah Wright
TE: Andrews, Gesicki, Okwuegbunam, Sample, Reed, Brycen Hopkins, Moss

The reasons Andrews is highlighted is because he could possibly net you a nice haul.

Cheers

For whatever reason message board posters love to pretend like QBs are all that matter in SF. But in real leagues with their own players few are willing to pay the price they claim QBs are worth on forums.

Lamar is worth a fair bit less than CMC on keeptradecut (crowd sourced rankings), about 1200 points which represents a 13% difference in value (faily large). He's even further behind CMC in actual SF ADP.

To me, if I were really staring down these two in an actual league with my own players, the difference is at least a random 1st in CMC's favor. At least.

A second round pick is reasonable to ask.

Id want something on top of cmc. Late first or a couple 2nds. To be honest if I’m rebuilding Jackson isn’t the guy im targeting anyways tho so I likely wouldn’t be making this deal.

Fairly even players in SF. Hard to say how your league values QBs, but I would start by asking the owner if CMC interests him and how much he would add to lamar to buy him. A 2nd sounds reasonable.

CMC most will most likely fall off a cliff within the next three years. LJax has a chance to be a top QB for another 10 years. Top QBs in a SF that will most likely outscore and have a longer fantasy career for sure trump top RBs. (In my opinion)

Any other of the top bunch of QBs I'd probably agree with you. LJax benefits immensely from his legs and likely has a shorter shelf life than other QBs because of it. I think 3-5 years is a lot more reasonable unless he improves his passing game.

Again though I think SF startups it's mahommes 1.01 and then essentially a group of CMC, LJax, Murray, Watson, and Allen.
