How am I doing? (1st IDP startup)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

How am I doing? (1st IDP startup)

Postby Grimmer » Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:54 pm

First IDP startup. 20-team that plays:
1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/TE, 1 RB/WR/TE
2 DB, 2 EDR/IL, 2 LB, 1 DB/EDR/IL/LB (CB, S, EDR, IL)
1 K, 1 P

Drafting from the #6 spot through my 9th round pick...
QB Dak
RB Sanders, Montgomery
WR Godwin, JuJu, Cooks
TE
EDR/IL TJ Watt, Nick Bosa (SF)
LB Roquan
DB Adams

I know I need a backup QB option early in the year but they're mostly gone other than Lock, Ben, Winston types. Any advice?

I would start hammering WR's and RB's to try to stack up some solid youth options there to help fill out your core a bit. Hopefully the IDP scoring portion is comparable to what the offensive side players score.

Roquan averaged 16.6, Adams 14.1, Juju 14.0, Godwin 15.7 but most of the remaining options where we're at now seem to have scored around the 10fp/game range.

Smith is a monster in this format, nice! Hopefully he keeps that up. The only issue I have ever noticed with IDP is it's so year to year defensively. Smith could be one of the next real consistent guys though for years like a Bobby Wagner. Sounds like he was a solid pick where you grabbed him.

Looks great so far given the IDP scoring. I would load up at WR to set your offensive core up well and sprinkle in RB value where you can.

It's a 40-round draft so I'll definitely round out some offense the next several rounds... just felt like grabbing some of the earlier IDP in the last couple rounds was better than depth pieces similar to what would be around in the 10-12 round range (hopefully). I traded Kamara to get an additional early pick which is how I have 10 players through 9 rounds and nabbed an extra '22 1st round rookie pick.

Through round 15...
QB Dak
RB Sanders, Montgomery
WR Godwin, JuJu, Cooks, Lazard, Bowden (RB/WR)
TE Trautman
EDR/IL TJ Watt, Nick Bosa
LB Roquan
DB Adams, Abram
K Tucker
P Hekker

There's still some fairly deep RB/WR options but with it being 20-team I wanted to grab a K & P I like. Still need 1 LB for my starting lineup with about 30 taken so far. All the QB are gone with the best (only) available being Cam, Mitch, Minshew, Smith, Fitz, Dalton. I'd like another TE since Trautman is an unknown at this point with Everett, Bryant, Albert, Schultz, Njoku, Dissly, Thomas being the best available.
