Hopkins vs Higgins

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hopkins vs Higgins

Postby BHerm24 » Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:23 am

Am I crazy for thinking about sending DHop for Higgins straight up? I REALLY like Higgins and I feel that their offense is just starting to go up. The only reason I am thinking this offer is I don't want to hold onto Hopkins to long before his value is not where it is now. This time next year I could see Higgins above Hopkins, but I may be biased with my love for Higgins

Hopkins should be valued higher, but we are talking 2nd round startup vs 3rd. Its not a massive ADP gap, but the near term production likely is more sizable.

If Higgins is your guy, go get him. I'd start by asking for more. Higgins plus a pick. Higgins plus a prospect.

I'm a huge Higgins fan, but this is pretty light for an elite WR. Despite age, Hopkins is elite and even though his value is dipping, I would try to move him in season to a contender for more.

Not close for me; I'd want a 1st on top of Higgins to give up Hoplkins. I doubt I'd get it in the offseason; and that's OK.

Under more conventional dynasty circumstances, I would see this as close, mainly because I love Higgins. I'm assuming this is for the team in your sig though? If so, I would keep Hopkins very easily. You're only keeping your starting lineups so the redraft pool is going to be loaded year after year. I wouldn't be trading elite assets in this format unless you're getting multiple starter upgrades back.

Didnt notice this. I absolutely agree in a format like this. It's much more like redraft than dynasty if you throw all bench players back. Hang onto studs.

Aha, good eye. In this format, I wonder if Higgins "makes the cut" for the other team or if he might be available in the draft again? OP could in theory end up with both on his squad after the draft.
