CMC Trade Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

CMC Trade Value

Postby twatterson » Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:46 pm

Jus took over a SuperFlex team that definitely needs a lot of work (team below). Was offered 1.07, 3.06, 2022 1st and 2022 3rd for CMC. Does not really do it for me. CMC (other than Watson) is the best dynasty asset I have at this point. Interested in folks thoughts on a counter?

The other team is pretty stacked with the 1.04 as well as Barkley, Dobbins, Lamb, Metcalf, Shenault, J. Herbert, Chark, Mims and all the 2022 picks.

Team

QB: D. Watson, M. Stafford
RB: CMC, K. Hunt, A. Dillon, G. Edwards, Z. Moss, K. Ballage, L. Murray
WR: C. Godwin, OBJ, C. Kirk, K. Hamler, D. Slayton,
TE: Engram, I. Smith, J. Reed

2021 Picks - 1.06, 4.2, 4.6
2022 Picks - All mine

If moving CMC, I would be trying to find a way to lock up Herbert to add to Watson in SF. In theory, this would really help your QB core for years to come. I think CMC will still have multiple top 10 seasons, but his value will start to decrease as he ages. Getting your QBs solved sooner rather than later allows you to focus on all other positions moving forward.

CMC is actually a great piece to have to launch this rebuild, as long as you don't sell low (this offer for instance). With that said, I think people will know this team isn't too competitive, so I wouldn't expect a massive overpay offer either. I would hone in on building at QB and WR to start with since you'll get much longer windows from them, then you can attack RB to become competitive after you have that foundation built out.

Of those pieces you listed from his team, I would counter with one of the following:

You give: CMC/OBJ/1.06
You get: Metcalf/Herbert

or

You give: CMC/OBJ/4.02/4.06
You get: Lamb/Herbert

If he has absolutely no interest in OBJ, you could also try:

You give: CMC/1.06
You get: Herbert/Lamb

That's REALLY light. Add Lamb (I'd be willing to add OBJ or Hunt to your side) and it's a deal. But as it stands now, its not close.

That original offer you got was far too low. Definitely seems like someone is trying to get over on the new guy. Make sure you announce to the league when you’re selling a blue chip player like CMC. Could create a bidding war for him.
