Elliott-Dobbins Gap

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Elliott-Dobbins Gap

Postby krtbuckeye » Mon Jan 25, 2021 5:56 am

I've made 2 offers to the Dobbins owner for a Elliott-Dobbins swap to see if he's interested in either. He is in between rebuilding and trying to move to win now (essentially a rebuilding team that traded me Swift for Henry straight up, so trying to transition I think).

Trade 1.)

I give: Elliott/2021 lottery 1st/2023 1st (from aging team without much top draft capital over the next few years)
I get: Dobbins/2022 1st/2023 1st

Trade 2.)

I give: Elliott/Pittman/L. Perine
I get: Dobbins/2021 2nd (position pending lottery, odds on 2.01, no worse than 2.04)

Are these offers too much, not enough, or about right? Thanks!

I prefer Dobbins over Zeke. I would need more than a late first added to Zeke to consider it. I look at it this way. I think they are going to be close(slight edge to zeke) to the same PPG next year and Dobbins more valuable after that, so why would I want to downgrade long-term? You might get something done on name alone right now ( zeke/pittman for him ), but the longer the offseason goes, it will cost you more.

Hold Zeke, value will rebound with Dak returning.

I think the offers are fair, but I also believe in a Zeke rebound and him staying elite for another couple years.if you prefer Dobbins, trade #1 should get it done in my opinion.
