Dynasty SF trade

Postby zaner75 » Sun Jan 24, 2021 8:50 pm

14 team/PPR/25 roster/Start QB/2RB/2WR/TE/Flex/SF/K/DST
Interested in hearing thoughts about this trade that happened in my league a couple of weeks ago (I'm not involved). What side do you prefer and why?

Russell Wilson + Justin Jefferson
Matthew Stafford + D'Andre Swift + Terry McLaurin

I agree it’s Wilson Jefferson, but it’s close in 14-team. Jefferson showed out this season, so he’s a top piece. Even though McLaurin has shown skill as well, they aren’t close. Wilson may not ever get back to top half QB1 status again, so getting a few years back with a motivated Stafford heading to a new team will be an interesting comparison. Getting Swift helps fill those gaps and provides a little more depth. I could see either side.
12-team, PPR 25 roster 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1(RB/WR/TE), 1 D/ST
QB D. Brees, L. Jackson, J. Burrow
RB D. Henry, M. Sanders, CEH, J. Dobbins, J. Taylor, A. Matt., J. Hill, K. Vaughn, S. Phillips
WR M. Thomas, C. Sutton, C. Ridley, C. Lamb, T. Higgins, JJAW, J. Hurd, J. Reynolds, T. Patrick, I. Ford, Q. Watkins, J. Meyers, C. Johnson
TE T. Kelce, D. Goedert, L. Thomas, A. O
2021 1.07, 1.10, 1.11, 3.11, 4.11, 5.11

12-team SF, .5 PPR 35 roster: 1QB, 1SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX, 2DB, 2LB, 2DL, 1FLEX
QB M. Stafford, C. Wentz, D. Brees, J. Burrow
RB J. Mixon, E. Elliott, N. Chubb, D. Swift, G. Bernard, B. Scott, S. Phillips
WR D. Hopkins, T. Lockett, Juju, Jefferson, C. Godwin, J. Gordon, G. Davis, P. Williams, M. Boykin, AGG
TE Z. Ertz, H. Henry, D. Goedert, A. O
DB J. Poyer, J. Johnson, J. Simmons
DL D. Hunter, Okwara, H. Landry, D. Lawrence
LB C. Mosley, Z. Cunningham, R. Evans, K. Alexander, P. Queen, T. Adams
2021 2.03, 3.05, 4.04, 4.08, 5.08

I still think Wilson is an elite options for years to come, so I would take his side. It's close for me especially if Stafford lands in a good spot based on the secondary pieces in play.

This is a tough one. In 14 tm league, depth is pretty big. I prefer the wilson/JJ side just because they are the best pieces, but I think its awfully close. Swift is right there with JJ in ADP, as top end RBs are harder to acquire.

Wilson >= stafford, Mclaurin
JJ >= swift

I could easily see a team benefiting by taking the depth play of three top end players.
